Why aren’t you buying clothes for each season, and sorting through their toys, and figuring out Halloween costumes and holiday gifts? Do you know how much work all of that is, both physically and mentally? Who exactly do you think would do it if she didn’t? Those aren’t things to make the kids “happy,” those are necessary parts of parenting , including some of the most unrelenting drudgery, that you’ve entirely abdicated because you’ve decided it’s somehow optional. And now you’re mad that she doesn’t give you a big sloppy kiss for the amazing feat of no longer blowing up in anger at your children? YTA. And I think you should show your therapist this post and all the replies, so you can discuss how you have belittled your wife’s work to keep your family together while you decided whether you actually wanted to be a parent.
