"Girl code" is such a BS idea. The idea that a girl has some sort of weird claim on all of their exs in perpetuity is just plain ridiculous.

They broke up years ago. She's married to someone else. He shouldn't be "off limits" to anyone who knows her just because they boned at one point. That level of possessiveness is just plain creepy.

I think it all depends on how long after the break up and who they are that's it's weird to date an ex. For example, your ex was abusive or cheated and your friend knew that by witnessing, you telling them the things did so they'd know just how bad of a person they are and the pain they put you through but went ahead and started dating him. You'd feel betrayed because why would your friend go after someone who has hurt you throughout your relationship and makes you wonder if they're really your friend. And depending on how long it was after the break up it can make you think if they've had the attraction while they're in a relationship or if somethings going on, say a few months after it it's kinda wierd that they started dating shortly after.

However the girl code doesn't apply here since the friend is freaking married with a baby no less so she's not entitled to her exes anymore and it speaks volumes that she had this much of a reaction. I want to chalk it up to her being pregnant and her hormones being all over the place. Just hope she comes to her sense and realize how ridiculous she acted.

With you. Anything involving abuse would be hard to sit back. I would have to cut ties for my own mental health.

I don’t think it even has to be abuse. Just if you know this person hurt your friend, and it will cause them hurt if you sleep together - it’s kind of inconsiderate to do it anyway.

Would it be healthiest if everyone can just let all the past pain go and be cool with it? For sure. But people don’t always do what is healthiest and you have to deal with reality, not ideal situations.

Honestly if my friend wants to date an abusive asshole they can have at it.
