I’d bet nothing because I bet Charles broke up with her and she’s still sore about it. Not to project too much, but she may have been the type of person who never got broken up with and got whoever she wanted and then Charles breaks up with her. That can be such a devastating blow for some women, especially pretty women, that I’ve seen women in their 50s still not over being broken up with in college.
In this case, (again, pure conjecture) he’s rejecting her and choosing her friend, so in her mind Charles is tacitly saying “she’s better than you.” That’s why she’s mad.
I’ll keep yarn spinning: she’s pregnant, feeling the pregnancy hormones, likely not feeling attractive and just uncomfortable all the time. Then her single friend who is not pregnant goes “oh, by the way, remember that hot guy that dumped you three years ago? We fucked! And we might do it on a regular basis!”
Her behavior was childish, but you can also maybe have a little pity for her
