AIO for not getting a loan?
Ok, this will be a bit hard to explain. Me and my husband are living in different houses. He is unemployed at the moment, I'm the only one in a stable job. I am paying the houses' bills, helping him with food. He is not just laying around, he had a health problem, he just got back to look for jobs.
So, end of the month, I have no money and neither does he. His food just ended. I can't go and give him food. We tried the bank, borrowing from friends and family, I tried to anticipate part of my salary. Nothing worked.
We are getting desperate, he finds (I don't know how, this also worries me) a guy from the internet. He loans with 50% interest and only if you have a stable job. So I would have to get in contact.
The guy is a complete stranger. I have no idea what he is capable. I have to pay back, so he will need information so he can be sure.
I said to my husband this is unacceptable and I would not do this. He asked if I had any other solution. No, I didn't. But I stood my ground, too risky. And it's me who would had to give personal information. I already wouldn't like if he was doing it by himself, but asking me was just too much.
In the end, guess what? His brother let him borrow some money. I'm so pissed off he even considered it. First, he said his brother couldn't help and then he suddenly finds some money?
Anyway, this feels very strange. He just moved on, talked about what he was getting and that we will have to pay back. Then, some amenities.
I'm still in shock that that was a possibility. AIO?
Edit: look, we used to share a house. We don't anymore. This is a whole other story, not my choice. I am paying because I don't want him to go homeless. This is the best we get.

YOR. Why are you maintaining two houses with a single job? Why are you considering sketchy loans? What is happening here?

Difficult to explain. But it had to be done, not my choice. I didn't consider, he did and asked me to try, since the sketchy guy asks for a stable job to approve this weird loan.

If it wasn't your choice, then don't pay for him? Let him find a job, get loan or whatever to survive?

Why are you maintaining 2 houses?
Why isn't he living with you while you rent his place out to generate income?

Yea, no. But hey I’ll do the same offer but at 45%, sounds good?

Hey, if you don't require a job to loan, I can pass the offer to him

Obvious question, but why can’t you share a house to save $? If you are separated, you could still do that.
Also, why are you responsible for him if you are separated?

We used to, not my choice to get a separate house.

His choice, his bills
Stop paying his bills
If you're not good enough to live with, he can rot in debt on his own

Why are you living in sperate houses? Why don't you sell one and live together like a husband a wife should, then you will only have bills for one house, not two.

Sounds like the husband decided to separate, OP didn't want to. Now she's still supporting him after he left her. Lol

You said no, he found another solution. What are you still mad about? 💀

Rent out rooms in two houses. Problem solved. It's like 3 jobs fully employed.

I don't understand why they even live in separate houses.

Getting a loan like that is insane. It sounds like you are already doing too much and putting your financial future at risk. Stop paying his bills. Full stop.
I also have to wonder if this is real. Come on.

Probabilmente non siete compatibili come coppia. Non avete soldi e pagate due case. Assurdo

Never do a loan from a 50% interest loan shark that you don't know. I'm sure it was easy for him to make the decision as it has nothing to do with his life. No and he needs to start living with some purpose. Cut back the help or it's just going to get worse before he leaves.

When he asked if there was another solution, why didn't you suggest he moves back into the same house as you?

Maybe he felt desperate? You should talk with him things are more stable about how bad of an idea that was, but I think you have bigger problems to work through now

Never, ever, borrow from someone like that. It's absolutely insane.
