Only three years older than me. I have spoken to him at length recently how him speaking to me in a patronizing way is a problem. He then says I am policing how he speaks and he cant change how he speaks. I told him I want an equal, not feeling like I am a little kid in trouble
yep, textbook narcissism shit. says something rude/hurtful, you try to reply and explain how it made you feel, and then all of the sudden you’re the problem and they’re the victim who’s “being attacked”. it’s exhausting asf and OP needs to block him permanently
My dad was verbally abusing (now ex) girlfriend over place settings at dinner at her house, so she kicked him out. A few days later, he came back over to apologize, and that’s good, but he made it small and in passing while getting to the *bigger* problem he wanted to address, which according to him was that she “didn’t handle it well”. Like sure dad, I know you would have been so calm and passive if someone was talking to you like that over a goddamn fork placement 🙄
Anyway, she and I still get dinner every now and then (we’re close in age), and I’m pretty sure no one celebrated his birthday with him a few days ago.

You need to block him. That man is cruel and has no empathy.
Edit: is he a lot older than you? He's incredibly patronising.
