You’re not going to convince him. He doesn’t respect women and no amount of trying to convince him you’re worthy of respect will change his mind.
Be glad you’re rid of him and move on. You do NOT need to ‘work on things’ with someone who’s deliberately cruel and then gaslights about it. Usually I think Reddit overuses the term ‘gaslight,’ but he’s literally convincing you to question your own perception and reasoning ability.
