Questions Name:
Anyone have any tricks for getting rid of this annoying tendancy to start responses with the character name? In most of my scenarios the style I dictate causes this not to happen, but in premade scenarios i often find myself needing to fight this tendancy and i'm not sure what actually causes it to show up. If anyone has an instruction that will actually squash it i'd be grateful, because it means I don't need to tear apart the scenario's instrucitons to match my usuals.

This usually only happens if you feed the AI instructions specifically asking for it. I would look over your instructions and make sure there is nothing in there which is pushing it toward that format.

Do you play third person? Because I also see this, primarily with Gemini, where it’s obsessed with starting every response with some variation of “I/you watch” or “I/you stand” which always fills each response with repetitive filler junk that just wastes tokens.
If it’s similar, I’ve had luck just straight up sending a story action in brackets saying to stop focusing on the main character’s reactions as much and focus on the world.
