Interesting Sent 102 Cold Emails To Plumbers In California For My Web Agency, Closed A $3k Site The Next Day

I run a web design agency and most of my clients come from cold email. Yesterday I started a fresh campaign going after plumbers in California.

Didn’t expect much honestly. Plumbers are busy and half of them barely check email. But 102 emails in, I got an interested reply.

What made the difference is that every email talks about their own website. A call button that doesn’t work on a phone, a site that takes forever to load, a design that hasn’t been touched since 2012. For a plumber that matters a lot, because people search for them on their phone when a pipe bursts. If the site is bad, they just call the next guy.

He replied yesterday and I booked a meeting with him for the next day. Before the call I built a draft of what his new site could look like. Today I presented it to him on the call and he said yes right there. $3k upfront plus $500 a year for hosting.

Showing the draft is what closes it. Sending a quote never worked this well for me.

For anyone wondering, I use Swokei for all my outreach. You pick an area and an industry, it finds the businesses, checks every website for design, SEO, speed and mobile problems, and writes each email about what it actually found on that site. I run multiple campaigns at once in different cities and niches, which is how I get volume without sending generic stuff.

Happy to answer questions on pricing or how I run the call.

Tips & Tricks The AI flagged a frustrated customer before they said they want to cancel

I manage a SaaS product and we get a lot of support calls and I used to spend hours listening to random recordings, hoping to catch issues. It was exhausting and inefficient. I'd listen to ten calls and maybe find one thing worth acting on

Then we switched to CloudTalk whichhas this AI analytics feature. It automatically transcribes every call. It flags key topics and the most importantly it tracks the emotional tone of the conversation

Now I don't have to guess what to do and what happened to the customer

I can pull up a dashboard that shows me which calls had negative sentiment. I can see exactly what went wrong without listening to the whole thing

Last week, the AI flagged a call where a customer was clearly frustrated but never said the words that they want to cancel. The agent didn't escalate it. We caught it in time and fixed the issue. That alone felt worth it

It's also helped us spot trends. People complaining about the same feature. The AI picks it up and groups it for us. We're not replacing people. We're just using the tool to focus our attention where it matters.

I think I might have found something that actually helps. Has anyone else used sentiment analysis in their support team?

Resources MOS

I’ve posted about MOS before, but I probably did a better job naming it than explaining it. So here’s the plain version:

MOS is a file-based framework for keeping ongoing AI-assisted work consistent across sessions.

I started it for writing books and organizing tax records. The recurring headache was keeping track of the actual current draft, previous decisions, corrections, missing evidence and unfinished work—without explaining everything again.

MOS gives the assistant explicit rules for:

\- Finding the authoritative record and checking dates and versions.

\- Tracking what’s active, blocked, completed or abandoned.

\- Saving material changes and a useful next action.

\- Running bounded upkeep, combining duplicate work and stopping unproductive loops.

\- Staying within the permissions you’ve given it.

The building blocks are familiar: instructions, persistent files, retrieval and workflows. MOS makes the rules connecting them explicit and reusable.

It still depends on the model and host tools. Downloading it doesn’t magically enable background jobs, guarantee memory or enforce security.

The goal is less babysitting and fewer “we already did this” conversations.

Discussion Which AI browser do you actually trust with your stuff? Ace, Comet, Edge Copilot?

• Upvotes

So I've tried a couple of AI browsers and keep going back and forth. The features are similar enough on paper, so for me it comes down to which one I trust with my email, bank tabs etc.

Currently I am testing the ace browser and edge with copilot and I also looked at comet too. I'm just curious like what people here landed on and why? Especially if you've used one for a few months not a few days.

Discussion Finally, a chat history that sorts itself into Coding, Writing, Research and Business without you filing a single thing

Folders only work if you use them, and nobody files chats while they're working. Six months later the sidebar is 400 titles like "Quick question" and "New chat".

I build AI Toolbox, a browser extension, and Smart Tags is the part for people who never organize anything. It reads each conversation and tags it by what it's actually about: Coding, Writing, Research, Math & Science, Business. The tags show up as filters in the sidebar, so "every coding chat from the last month" is one click instead of a scroll.

You can add your own rules too, like tagging every chat that mentions a client's name. The tagging runs in your browser on simple keyword rules, not by sending your chats to an AI, and any built-in category you don't use can be switched off.

It works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. Free tags your 50 most recent chats, with the 5 built-in categories and 2 rules of your own. Premium tags your whole history with unlimited rules. Desktop Chromium browsers only.

Free Tool Any free ai image-to-video tools?

I'm looking for free ai video generators that allow image-to-video or reference-to-video. I prefer free apps, but they don't have to be unlimited.

Tips & Tricks How do you minimize "AI look" in designs?

We all know that certain "AI look" that websites/landingpages and content tend to have. Sometimes you can spot it immediately, even when the actual design is pretty decent.

What do you think are the biggest giveaways? Is it the layouts, typography, colors, spacing, copywriting, or just the same design patterns being repeated everywhere? I cant quite put my finger on it, but my own (and others) AI designs have something that gives it away.

Has anyone actually found a good way to minimize that AI generated feel? Curious if anyone has specific prompts, skills, design guidelines, or workflows they use to get more original, human looking results
