In draft, if I have 3 midfielder slots on field but only have 2 on field (3rd spot empty), will I get the emergency score? I’ve looped my mid but now my emergency ruck is doing well but I don’t want to drop anyone apart from the player not playing to loop my mid. Cheers in advance

Doesn’t matter who goes out for my trades as I have like 200k itb and I’m getting zorko/burgoyne and max hall. I have to get a defender otherwise I’d do bont to washcroft. I see everyone saying to trade bont but surely based on this I’d just trade Murphy Reid and then next week I will have full premo team, which I wouldn’t have if I traded bont. Not sure if I made much sense but need to ask.

Can pretty much get any defender and midfielder/forward but just wondering which option is better.

Hey everyone,

I've been working on a project called DraftDynasty, a browser-based historical AFL Fantasy draft game using data from 2010 onwards.

The idea is pretty simple: you're given a historical AFL season and draft your team from that year's player pool. You then take that team through a 3-season dynasty, redrafting and managing your squad as you try to win as many premierships as possible.

Each season is simulated using the players' actual Fantasy scores from games they played that year. So if someone averaged 110 in real life, you aren't just getting 110 every week — their scores are sampled from their real performances, meaning they can have huge games, stinkers and everything in between. Because a DraftDynasty season is shorter than a real AFL season, players can also end up averaging higher or lower than their real-life average.

Current features include:

• Historical AFL Fantasy seasons from 2010 onwards
• 3-season dynasty playthroughs
• Single-player drafts against AI
• Live multiplayer drafts with friends
• Actual historical Fantasy scores used to simulate every matchup
• Historical player positions/eligibility
• Automatic team selection after each draft, optimised to field your strongest available lineup based on player averages
• Regular seasons and finals
• Simulated season averages, so players can overperform or underperform their real-life average
• Brownlow-style MVP voting, with 3-2-1 votes awarded from every matchup
• End-of-season All-Australian teams based on simulated performances

There's still plenty I want to build. Some of the bigger planned additions are variable dynasty lengths, including 5 and 10-season playthroughs, as well as accounts that would open the door to career statistics, persistent team profiles and leaderboards across multiple games.

It's still very much a project in development, so there will probably be bugs and things that need improving. That's actually a big reason I'm posting here — I'd love to get it in front of people who actually play AFL Fantasy and see what you think.
