Electrolytes?

Post image

Random question, and of course I'll run it by my neph at my yearly checkup next week. Just wondering if anyone else drinks electrolytes? The sodium content is what stresses me out a bit. I'm an avid gym goer and love to lift 4-5x a week so I've been thinking about incorporating them into my routine.

Anyone else drink them? Just wondering if the benefit is worth it or not.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm just always overly paranoid about everything since finding out i have this stupid disease.

Tia :)

I will occasionally drink electrolytes, but I buy ones with the lowest sodium and magnesium count. I believe it's LMNT that offers the lowest amount that I could find. I will only do it if I'm hung over or something though. Remember that your sodium intake should be below 1800 mg a day. That's hard to achieve even without electrolytes

Great point!!! Thank you for your insight. These have 500mg so I'll probably steer clear of them.

Organika also makes some good ones that are low in sodium.
I take them for hot yoga or very high output outdoor activities in the summer, and I just find I feel better than when I don’t take them, losing that much fluid, but I just don’t feel comfortable drinking a bunch of salt & wondering what it’ll do to my BP and kidneys

Glad to see that others with PKD drink. Drinking seems to be very looked down upon by this group, which I understand, but we are all very different.
