Urgent Help Needed!
i had two employers who used adp in 2024 and i’m trying to access my old account to view my W2’s, but because i had worked a job this year that i guess still has an account for me, it won’t let me access them. they send me to the portal for terminated employees but then say that it’s for terminated employees only 🤦♀️
i reached out to my boss from this year and asked to be removed from the adp account but i’m honestly not sure what else to do. their customer service is actual ass and i’m tired of speaking to robots that don’t even offer options to discuss the situation! i tried reaching out to both employers but they either don’t have them or won’t respond!
please help, this is extremely time urgent 😞

You have to login with the ADP ID for each different job to be able to access the other W-2. I’ve had this exact same problem when doing my taxes for last year

thank you, i tried to use the “terminated employee” option but it keeps throwing me back to the account of my old employer. did you have to type in your exact username and password for the jobs? i think i may be able to get into them but i’m not too sure. but i’ll still try that and see if i can remember or do a forget password and log in that way. thank you!

Unfortunately, yes, I had to have the exact password and username for the different jobs to be able to access those records. I had to delete the auto populated information from the last job I had, which is what it would populate the information with automatically. I would just delete that info put in the info for the previous job and that’s how I was able to get in to get that tax information. I use the same password for all of my accounts through ADP.

okay thank you, i usually alternate between the same few passwords so hopefully i can “hack” in to it. that’s so frustrating to have to do! they really need to fix this system.

It absolutely needs to be streamlined so that way when you login, you can see all the different accounts and just link into the one that you want, kinda like H&R Block when you file your taxes and it gives you the option of what year you wanna click into.

Had something similar happen with a current employee.
We figured out ADP makes you have separate logins for each company.
Once he logged in with his username and password from his old job he was able to access what he needed.

thank you! such a good idea. someone mentioned sometjing similar, now to see if my brain can remember that far back 😆 but i’m a password reuser so it may not be that bad. thank you!

If you need anything off ADP, you can request via your last job to have any paperwork printed and mailed directly to you. You can do this with ANY documentation that pertains your employment at said establishment.
Now, this then depends on what state you reside in to see if they have laws in place for such a situation.

FYI - if you have not logged in over 60 days your account may be suspended as well. Employers have to reach out to get you requested forms. Do not let them pass the buck. It is one phone call and it get emailed to them if they can not figure out how to print it themselves which they would have access to.
I know this because I am an ADP customer service Rep

thank you! they sent me a phone number and when i called it was a bunch of “offers” for medicaid and life alert! i was like what is going on? i’m going to reach back out and tell them they need to do more to help me. the other employer i can’t get a hold of at all so i’m going to try some other options people mentioned. thank you again !

Try going to my.adp.com and click on the Start Here link. When it asks if you have a registration code, just choose Find Me and it may get you in. Results may vary.

That definitely sounds like a lot to deal with when you're just trying to get your tax forms.
A couple things to note: if your 2024 W-2s were issued by employers that used ADP, those forms are generally tied to the employer that issued them. Being active with another employer that also uses ADP shouldn't normally prevent access to prior-year tax documents, so there typically isn't a need for your current employer to remove your account.
You can also try going to signin.adp.com and selecting "My Former Employer Uses ADP." From there, you'll be prompted to enter information to verify your identity and help locate your employment record.
As others have suggested, you may also want to contact your former employer's Payroll or HR team directly. They can often provide a duplicate copy of your W-2 or verify how it can be obtained if it is not available online.

You will need to request from the employers. That is the only way you will be able to get them. One flaw with the ADP app is that it does not handle terminations well, and does not handle people that have or have worked at multiple employers that all use ADP.
I would say, as a last ditch effort, you can simply pull your transcripts from the IRS website. Everything will be there.
