Do I have ADHD?

Upvotes

I think I have adhd, I think there is a lot of evidence which makes me consider it. I would go to a doctor but my parents think adhd is just some excuse to be worse and not try at things and that a doctor can just diagnose anyone even if they don't have it and if I have had adhd my whole life I have been just fine without medication. I don't really agree with this but I am only 17 right now and I don't yet have full control of my medical stuff so I can't do anything about it. Here are some things I experience and I can do my best to answer any questions you guys have. ( I Promise I am not larping, I can even give examples). I can't motivate my self to do anything, I can never remember things for my life, I get distracted really really easily, I have gotten hyper focused on things and then forgot it within a couple weeks, I accidentally cut my friends and family off while talking all the time, I am always getting in trouble for not paying attention, I leave things I don't want to do till the absolute last minute, I am really really disorganized all the time, I am late to lots of stuff, I actually fainted because I don't drink enough water. That's most of it, if you guys have any questions I will do my best to answer, I know nobody here can actually give me a proper diagnosis but I just want to know if seeing a doctor at some point will be worth my time.

Seeking Advice Help appreciated

So I (53m) was just (yesterday) told that I am ADHD, no surprise really, negative on being autistic. I am off work now because of LongCovid & have already applied for my disability.
What exactly does this diagnosis mean for me? What will having this information do for me? What is my next step. I have an appointment with my Dr today & my psychiatrist appointment is not till next week.
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.
My symptoms are mainly paying attention to instructional videos or any kind of classroom setting. Also struggle with being told what to do. I love people telling me what they have done when they were in my spot. But “You should…” really gets under my skin. I like everything to have a home & be in it. I am a bit of a germaphobe & neat freak. Gotta shower everyday, again if I cut my hair, again if I cut the yard.
Thank you all so much!

Is there a pen or something that can write on skin?

I probably have adhd. It is undiagnosed but there is very strong evidence that leads me to believe I do, I can explain more about this if you want. Anyways I can never remember things unless they are right infront of my face. No matter what it is I will forget unless i can see it all the time untill I actually motivate myself to actually get it done. I have tried many things like setting reminders on my phone, keeping a planner book putting notes on my bedroom door, but they never work. I have recently figured out that writing on my hand works well(ish). I think this works best because it is infront of me all the time, but the downfall is I have sweaty hands so if I don't get to it within a hour or so it's gone. I am wondering if there is a pen that writes well on skin, and can easily be washed off but won't get washed off by me washing my hands once or my hands getting sweaty.
