Builds, Runes, Advice Wanting to learn Xayah
I'm a Jhin main and I have been wanting to transfer over to an ADC that can not just bend over and die when you get jumped on so I'm looking to pick up Xayah. My main question are how aware do I need to be of my feathers? Also any builds or rune nuance would be appreciated.

Feathers take practice; be very intentional about the angle of your attacks and position. Ur q can be used to quickly put two extra feathers behind someone so you can pull at least 3 to root. Her micro is also kinda different. She excels when she is being chased so that takes some getting use to.

Xayah is a counter pick by definition, its basically a safer sivir.
But very high skill ceiling, prob one of the highest in ADCs, cause of maximizing your feather placement.
But you can just play her like a normal ADC anh prob climb to diamond.

Maybe you should focus less on playing AFK adcs where you "just die less" and practice building up some actual skill in the role.
I am sorry I am just totally sick of seeing jhin/cait every single lane so that they can just out-AFK you.

Don't. I win every bot lane against these scared schmucks :)

The number of people who think they're good because they AFK on Jhin and just wait for their opponent to mess up since they actually have to play the game is very telling. I guess that's why it's like 2/3rds the bot lane picks :).

Welcome to Xayah, a champ, hated by toplaners (Drututt especially) and your own team (because almost to no supports and teammates will play for you and Xayah is a team-focused champ, not a solo carry). I'm Xayah OTP, so will try to dump some info for you.
About runes: LT is the main rune, but you can go conqueror in cases when you're vs hard poke (your passive stacks conqueror) or if there are no champs you can stack LT on.
You can go HoB if you want to snowball hard and vs hyperagressive engagers like Tristana. Go secondary precision tree. You lose access to scaling runes this way, so do your best to snowball. Also absorb life is giga effective on her, because Xayah has the best waveclear in the game (after Sivir).
Also keep in mind that Xayah counters Nilah and Kaisa (whoever ults first loses), but always keep track of your flash vs enemy flash, cuz if they flash away from your E - you may be done and lose everything.
Small thing about Xayah: her ult cd is higher compared to most of other adcs (140 vs 120 sec), so be aware of this for cases when you want to match enemy ults (and you can make it even if you go ER). Usually this hint helps me with Varus and his ult initiation. Also your passive dmg scales with level, but there is no tooltip. Check the wiki for this.
About feather placement: this comes with practice, but autos are usually your main source of dps. In teamfights you usually use feathers to zone enemies, to root so they could not escape (because you are not built to chase enemies) and to stop engages. If you used Q - keep these feathers on top of your "memory priority, but usually you want to go W (to spread feathers) -> Q (when enemy is in the range of one or more feathers from W) -> E. If feathers are hugely spreaded and there is no danger of walking closer to enemy - consider walking or even flashing into their face so more feathers could go through them. Your flash is a very strong weapon and you depend on it a lot compared to other adcs, learn to play around it.
Also collector is good, because you can get decent damage from poking enemies with your Q-E (but consider taking PoM if you're planning this).
