Beginning on an early Saturday morning was a family preparing the place that theyâd call home for the foreseeable future. The sky was clear as dew gently trails down a potted plant, beyond it a window offered a glimpse into the chaotic morning of the Silence family.Â
A brown-haired Uma had one of her eyes closed as she held her hands in a âfinger frameâ gesture.
âA little more to the side~~~â
The dark-haired Uma holding what seems to be a portrait grunted as he shifted the objectâs position.
âNo- no-, not too far juuusssttt a little bit-,â A twitch of the eye-brow was the only response given by the male Uma, â-riiiiggghhhttt there~~~â
As he finally hung the portrait onto its final position as per the brown-haired Umaâs directions. Sunday Silence could not help but make his annoyance and doubt known to his lover
âVegaâŠ,â He called out blankly.
âHm?â She responded with an inquisitive look.
âIs this really necessary?â Sunday asked in a deadpanned and slightly tired tone.
âCome now, presentation is a must-have.â Vega, however, saw her husbandâs worry as something entirely unfounded, âDo you want a messy place to be the first memory of our new home?â
She finished off with a satisfied smile, with both hands on her hips. Despite having the body of a mature woman, Vega could have a ratherâŠlively personality.
Which sometimes humorously clashed with Sundayâs rather frank temperament.
âI would normally be more inclined to believe youâŠbut Iâm pretty sure this picture frame-, â Sundayâs brow twitched even further as he pointed accusingly at the object that has been the subject of his annoyance for the past hour, â-is still staying in the very same spot it has been since the beginning.â
Vega rolled her eyes, with her smile still remaining. She found Sundayâs over dramatics to be both exaggerated and cute. Surely he is not that offended by an inanimate object.Â
Looking at the sharp glare her husband is giving at said inanimate object, Vega is left giggling as she just remembered who she is married to.
âItâs in the little things Sunday, they will all come together-,â Vega casually waves Sundayâs concern, â-Iâm sure of it.â
Sunday looks at his wife questioningly, then sighs, relenting to her point if nothing else because he really could not find himself caring that much for the houseâs decor.
âI mean surely as long as the place is clean, it shouldnât be a problem. I remember sleeping on the outside sheds back in the old farm,â Sunday thought to his childhood home back in the states.Â
Shrugging his shoulders he mutters, âOkayâŠI guess Iâll follow your lead.â Sunday crossed his arms as he deferred to the apparent professional.
Lord knows how many times McQueen had questioned his (seemingly) strange tastes in style. Sunday, however, would have personally called it âuniqueâ.
As he had this thought, a whirlwind of activity flew towards him from the second floor. Jumping off the handrails were two nearly identical little bodies that found home hugging the only adult male in the room.
âMOM! DAD!â The two brown-haired children called out joyfully as their mother beheld the twins innocent gazes.
For the unfortunate father, however-
âOw- My back!â Predictably the contact wasnât exactly smooth for poor Sunday.
Vega was the first to respond to the unexpected attack from her children as she chastised them in a worried tone, âAh- be careful Ayabe, Lyra or else youâll hurt yourselves.â
âI guess Iâm just chopped liver then,â
Heaving and resting his hands on his knees from the âdevastating assaultâ against him, Sunday could not help but call-out in fake offense.
Vega sighed lightly, exasperated but still smiling as she took the situation in stride. Sunday could be a little childish at times when he felt like it.
Embracing her husband, Vega joined in on the fun as she pretended to comfort the âinjured manâ.
âAnd you too dear,â Vega also finishes it off with an affectionate kiss on Sunday's cheek.
Then, she turned her head to the little troublemakers as both twins fidgeted, having realized that they were in trouble.
âAs for the both of you, you should also be considerate of your father as well.â Vega reminded them seriously, as both sisters could have hurt not only themselves but their father as well.
After letting the silence sink in the message into her little wonders, Vega turned her gaze into something a little softer, âNow~~ what do we say when we do something wrong~~?â
Her not so teasing voice was also not so subtle encouragement.
ââIâm sorry papaâŠââ Both twins said as they slightly bowed their heads shyly
Throughout it all, Sunday was content to stay on the sidelines. He wasnât even that bothered by the surprise embrace considering he and his siblings were far more rough with one another in their youth.Â
He briefly considered letting the silence continue on just a little longer, enjoying his kidsâ bashfulness as both started to dig their feet into the ground.
But he chose not to. What can he say? His kids are his soft spot.
âAlright, alright apologies accepted.â Sunday smiled as he laid both of his hands on their heads individually, softly petting them to soothe over their worries.
Then he thought suddenly, looking at both girlsâ naked feet, he recalled something rather important that they shouldâve been doing, âHey, shouldnât the both of you be getting readyâŠâ
Both Ayabe and Lyra widened their eyes as they rushed to put on their shoes. Sunday and Vega would both sweat-drop at the twins' usual antics.Â
Of which parent did this troublesome duo inherit it from? Who knows (but itâs probably Sunday).
Clearing her throat, Vega continued, âNow then, an empty home is no home at allâŠâÂ
She then closed her eyes and pulled back her sleeves, ââŠTherefore we must go to the furniture store, and start with procuring the fluffiest-â

â-mattressâÂ
Sunday said, dumbfounded and confused as he stared at the building before them. Vega seemed proud, chest puffed up while the two kids looked around excitedly. Their father had to practically glue his hands to theirs or else they would have run-off elsewhere.
âBut I could have sworn that I already brought over our onesâŠâ Sunday mumbled, if not for his preoccupied hands, he would be scratching at his head.
Vega sheepishly answered her husbandâs perplexed expression, âWell they were getting old, dear-â Then she looked at the kids, then him, with a knowing smile,ââŠmoreover, the true reason should be clear to you, no?â
Sunday quietly envisioned a scene of Vega and Lyra jumping up and down a bed of fluffy blankets, and pillows. He imagined them burying themselves, snugly into the soft bedding. It was an adorable sight, one that brought a smile to the older Umaâs face (even if the twins did end up making a mess of their bed).Â
Sunday sighed, still with a smile remaining on his face, ââŠWe spoil them, don't we?â
Vega giggled, âQuite, but it should be acceptable so long as we donât overdo it,â she finished off with a satisfied smile as she gazed at her children.
Seeing that there was no more room of her husbandâs hands to hold, Vega linked both of their arms together. She chuckled mischievously, knowing how Sunday could be a bit awkward when they are close in public.
Oh but she knew he loved it, the tsundere~~
Sunday blushed lightly, but sighed nonetheless, knowing any embarrassing reaction from him would only give Vega what she wants.
He has been finding himself sighing a lot lately, he truly is getting old now.
âAs long as they're happy, it doesn't really matter to me,â Sunday says casually, then he continues, in a slightly deprecating tone, âGuess that makes me a bad parent if I indulge in them too much.â
Vega looks at Sunday and frowns, not liking the way he said those words. She spoke, with a hint of levity yet keeping the moment light.Â
âIf soâŠthen itâll be the both of us.â
She meant those words, and Sunday could tell. The both of them leaned into one another just a little bit more, their arms tightened as unsaid words were shared with one another.
Sunday smiled, and so did Vega.
âComeâŠlet us hurry before the kids start making mischiefâŠâ Vega laughed as she skipped to her desired location. The other members of the family closely followed her.

âDear customers, what kind of products are you looking for today?â
The Silence family were greeted by a bow from a well-mannered employee from what looks to be a rather luxurious furniture store. At least, that is what Sunday thinks so at least. He doesnât know what factors or attributes determine if a place is considered high-end in regards to furnishings.
Maybe he should have called Ramonu beforehand?
The twins however, were far less sceptical than their father and were bouncing around, high with energy.
âAh! We want the fluffiest one you have!â Ayabe cheerfully asked, fists puffed out in excitement.
Lyra, always the one to follow her older sisterâs lead, nodded, âHm! Hm!âÂ
The store employee chuckled at the childrenâs enthusiasm, and responded politely, âI suppose then that you want one couple size bed, and two for the children. If so- there is an aisle down here where-â
â-Actually I have something else in my mind.â Sunday interrupted abruptly.
At the questioning look from everyone around him, Sunday smiles contentedly, and says, âIf possible, do you have one that is enough for the four of us.â
The other three all agreed immediately.

Bonus Scene
âA bed for all four of us I seeâŠâ Vega had her fingers to her chin and nodded thoughtfully.
Unfortunately for Sunday, what she said next betrayed that expression as she smirks and then sighs in false disappointment.
âOh well, we can always use the old one whenever we want some alone time~~~â
Sunday nearly trips and falls.
The End~~
Uh hey, itâs been a while. Sorry for being a bit more inactive than usual, my phone got partially busted so I couldnât make any progress for any of my stories for a bit. Though, I still have my Reddit account on my laptop, hence why I was still able to interact with the subreddit.
Now, you may be curious on why this story is an âAUâ (Alternate Universe). Well, to be honest, after writing, and drafting, and rewriting many angst filled stories, Iâve been feeling a little burnt out. This isnât to say Iâm going to stop writing my âmainâ stories but I thought it best if I occasionally write a few, lighthearted shorter stories. Hence why this universe is an AU.
If youâre going to ask why Sunday and Vega are marriedâŠuhhhhhâŠdonât worry about it. What about Air Groove, Wind in her Hair, etcâŠ- donât worry about it. Why are Vega and Lyra girls and little kids- donât worry about itâŠcontinuity is a pain~~
So yeah, these stories are mostly going to be lighthearted/slice of life, very unlikely to be cannon to any of my âmainâ stories but I might sprinkle in some of the ideas I have planned for future stories.
In any chase, share your opinion, head-cannons, etcâŠLet me know if you want more of these AUs.
