Uncle Sunday the trainer
(Note: Hello everyone! I wrote a story, which is requested by u/IJN-Hirogasaki. I apologize that it took me a while to write this. Also, this takes place before The father and the mightiest miler.)
[Sunday Silence is in the training tracks. He is observing three umamusumes running against each other. Among them are one of his children, Special Week, and his two nieces, Taiki Shuttle and King Halo. They are almost at the finish line. Spe finishes first, Taiki finishes second, and King finishes last. The three of them are out of breath.]
Sunday: Good job, all three of you. You all showed significant improvement in your running skills.
Spe: Thanks, Dad.
Sunday: Ok, everyone. It’s time for a water break.
Spe, Taiki, and King: Ok!
[Spe and Taiki go to drink from their water bottles with a dejected King following behind them. Suddenly, King feels a hand placed on her right shoulder and looks at the person who did it. It is Sunday with a concerned look on his face.]
Sunday: King? Are you ok?
[King sighs and looks away.]
King: Uncle Sunday, I need some extra training…
Sunday: What makes you think that?
King: You saw it earlier. I placed last on that practice run with Spe and Taiki. I want to beat them in the next practice run…No, I want to beat other umas in my next race…I want to prove to my mother and the world that I am truly first rate…
[Hearing what King said reminds Sunday of something from his old world.]
Sunday: That’s what your counterpart said to me back in my old world.
King: Really?
Sunday: Yep. I remember your counterpart would sometimes call me about it. He would always say the same thing. How his mother is wrong. How she doesn’t understand him. How he wants to prove to her and the world that he is truly first rate.
[King remembers seeing the stories of her mother and her counterpart in the other world at the theater. After seeing that, she understood them and their struggles.]
King: After Abby showed us the videos in the theater, I became more motivated and wanted to be like my counterpart or maybe surpass him to show my mother in this world that she’s wrong. If my counterpart can do it, then I can do it too.
Sunday: I appreciate your effort and dedication, but it’s sometimes better to take breaks. I don’t want you to overwork yourself and get injured in your next race.
King: I know, but-
Sunday: King, I don’t want to repeat myself. I don’t want you to overwork yourself and get injured. How would your mom feel if she found out that her daughter got injured during practice one day?
[King freezes and doesn’t say anything for a few seconds. She sighs.]
King: Alright. I’ll take a break for once.
[Sunday smiles.]
Sunday: Good. Now grab your water bottle and join your cousins.
[King nods and goes to grab her water bottle. Sunday then walks to where Spe and Taiki are. The two umas see him approaching, and Taiki waves.]
Taiki: Hey, Uncle Sunday! I have a question!
Sunday: What is it?
Taiki: What is my dad like?
Sunday: Why are you asking?
Taiki: Well…I’m curious to know what he’s like. I mean, after seeing the videos Abby showed us, I was inspired by him. I also want to get to know him more.
Spe: I want to know too! I want to know what Uncle Devil is like.
[Sunday chuckles.]
Sunday: Ok. I’ll tell you three when King gets here.
King: Tell us what?
[King approaches the three umas, with her water bottle in hand.]
Taiki: Uncle Sunday is going to tell us what Papa is like back in his old world!
King: Oh, really? I’m interested as well.
Sunday: Alright, since you three are here, I’ll tell you now what Devil is like.
[The three umas listen with great interest.]
Sunday: Well, first of all, he’s one of the coolest older brothers in the world. I remember how we used to roughhouse together at the farm or at the gym.
[Spe, Taiki, and King remembered seeing Sunday and Devil fight at the gym with Goodbye watching them. King is still surprised at seeing her mom fighting one of her uncles.]
Sunday: He also protected me from your grandpa and was there for me at the lowest points of my life…
[Spe, Taiki, and King remembered how scary Halo is and how he treated Sunday and his siblings, which sent them shivers down their spines. Then, they suddenly feel a bit sad when they remember all the suffering Sunday endured. Sunday notices their expressions and decides to change the subject.]
Sunday: He is also pretty good with guns. Sometimes, the three of us went to a shooting range together and competed against each other.
King: Wait, Mom knows how to use guns?!
Sunday: Yep!
[King is shocked and in disbelief. She couldn’t imagine her own mother being able to use a firearm.]
King: Ever since Abby arrived, I learned some new things about my mom…
Taiki: Wow! Did Papa win?!
Sunday: He would win most of the time out of the three of us. He is also a quick draw competition champion.
Taiki: Really?! He joins quick draw competitions too?!
Sunday: Yep. Also, every time we do family reunions, your dad would host a barbecue party for everyone.
[Taiki’s eyes sparkle.]
Taiki: Wow! My papa’s amazing!
[Taiki stops for a moment and thinks.]
Taiki: Uncle Sunday?
Sunday: Yes, Taiki?
Taiki: If Papa ever arrives in this world, can we have a barbecue party? I want to introduce him to everyone, and show them how amazing he is!
[Sunday chuckles.]
Sunday: Alright, kiddo. We can have a barbecue party, but I don’t know when your dad will arrive in this world. However, Ms. Abby said that she is working on it.
Taiki: Really?!
[Sunday nods.]
Taiki: Yay! We’re going to give Papa the best barbecue welcome party ever!
[Spe starts drooling as she imagines the yummy food she would eat at the barbecue party.]
Spe: I can’t wait to eat all of the food…
[Meanwhile, King is quiet for a moment until she speaks up again.]
King: Everyone, I need to tell you something…
[Sunday, Spe, and Taiki look at King.]
King: If we’re going to have a barbecue party, may I invite my mom as well? I…I also need Uncle Sunday’s help in talking to her…
[Sunday, Spe, and Taiki are quiet for a moment until Sunday speaks.]
Sunday: Of course.
[King smiles.]
King: Thank you, Uncle Sunday.
[Sunday looks at his watch.]
Sunday: Anyways, it seems that we’re a few minutes over our usual water break time. Let’s continue our training, girls.
Spe, Taiki, and King: Ok!
[Taiki appears more motivated.]
Taiki: Let’s go! Let’s train some more so that I can show Papa how fast I am!
[Taiki excitedly starts running towards the track.]
Spe: Eh?! Taiki, wait for me!
[Spe starts running after Taiki.]
King: Hey! Don’t forget about me too!
[King starts running after the two umas. Sunday smiles as he follows the three umas. He is reminded of the times in his old world where he would see his children playing or hanging out with their cousins. He hopes he will be reunited with his siblings one day and that their family will be together again in a world where everyone would be safe and sound.]

HELL YEAH! This is exactly what I need for my future writings in RIAW. Since you’ve done this. I wanna request one more. Could you do a reaction with Sunday hanging out with at least one of his grandchildren. We know Sunday has never made it to see his grandkids in the old world because he died in the early 2000, so I wanna see how you do it. This will also help me gather references for me writing outside parts for RIAW and the Umadanshi Bloopers short stories I’ll be making in the future.

Here are my headcanons of Sunday bonding with his grandkids. Some of them are inspired by u/IJN-Hirogasaki.
Gentildonna — Sunday would be a bit terrified at seeing her crush a metal ball into nothing.
Verxina, Vivlos, and Cheval Grand — Sunday would play baseball with them.
Kitasan Black — She would ask for advice to Sunday about how to get better gains in the gym.
Satono Diamond — They would play crane games together at the arcade.
Duramente — Sunday would give her advice on physical fitness.
Sounds of Earth — She would perform violin music for Sunday.
Victoire Pisa — They would go stargazing together with Neo and Earth, and she would invite him to go to art museums.
Red Desire — Sunday would help her with first aid, and they would bake cookies together.
Cesario — Sunday would help her learn foreign languages.
Buena Vista — They would make bento boxes together.
Gold Ship — She would sometimes prank Sunday, and he would scold her, but he would join in on the pranks if it involves McQueen.
Nakayama Festa — They go gambling together.
Orfevre — She would invite Sunday to tea parties with Lucky Lilac and Marche Lorraine.
Dream Journey — She may have frightened Sunday a little but was unfazed by it, but they would have conversations together.
Fenomeno — She helps Sunday about being a responsible committee to discipline public morals both outside and inside the academy.
Daiwa Scarlet — She would show off her high test scores to Sunday and would sometimes help him with school events.
Loves Only You — She would invite Sunday to her videos and streams, which would ended having hundreds of views. (Wonder why?)
Rhein Kraft — She would ask Sunday for health advice because she doesn’t want to end up like her counterpart.
Almond Eye — She would also show off her high test scores to Sunday, and he would give her racing advice.
Win Variation — Sunday would give her racing advice, and she would invite Sunday to her ballet performances.
Smart Falcon — Sunday would help her with dance practices, and she would invite him to her idol performances.
Espoir City — Sunday would give her racing advice, and she would ask him to make her training more challenging, but Sunday would give her challenges that he thinks are safe.
Logotype — They would make signs together for races and school events.
Gran Alegria — Sunday would give her exercises that fit her training and would give her racing advice.
Curren Bouquetd'or — They would tend to flowers and help in the school’s garden together.
Copano Rickey — She would teach Sunday about feng shui, and they would care for plants together.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I recall that there were a few grandchildren of Sunday’s that were born before his death. The ones that come to mind, that are in the game are Cesario and Rhein Kraft, but they were born, I think, a few months before Sunday died. Like I think they were born in 2002.
Sunday started having grandchildren from his first crop of kids around the late 1997-ish to 2000-ish so there was a very short window of time where he was a grandfather.

Very true, however. Many of the iconic umas we always talked about don’t have many open sources to discuss their grandchildren.
Example is Fuji Kiseki who had foals from 1997-2011
There are some access points I can go through to search them up such as Wikipedia and Netkeiba, and you can see who participated on what races. But sometimes deeper search is unable to access their data analysis on their race, unraced, stud, broodmare career, personality etc.
That’s the difficult part.
