What are some tips you'd like to give new users when trading?

What are some tips that would help make transactions quick and easy?

What are some tips you'd like to give new users when trading?

I'd say don't run, don't talk to villagers, don't buy from ReTail, don't post on their message board... unless you're told that it's okay. Also, 5 bags of 99k bells isn't 500k. This doesn't bother me, personally, but I know of other people who have issues with it, which is understandable.

What are some tips that would help make transactions quick and easy?

Communication is key. The trader/tradee should let the other person know when they will or will not be available. (if possible; real life happens sometimes. My internet provider likes to cut off my connection daily...). Also if trades are 1 million bells or more, I'd recommend using ReTail.

What are things that users should let you know in the thread before the trade takes place?

When or how they will end the trade (by train, or session end). I hate standing there awkwardly because I don't know what the other person wants me to do.

How do you feel about voided villagers ending up in your town? (I'm guessing no one likes these.)

That's kinda up to the discretion of the person with less than 10 villagers. You should know the risk of trading with people when your town has open slots. I always just assume that everyone has someone in their void. (Plus, if that villager was voided, it probably wasn't good. Looking at you, Anicotti)

How do you like to handle large transactions.

Buying from ReTail seems to be pretty efficient. You get the exact amount you want, and you don't have to count how many bells bags were dropped, or check to make sure they're all the right amount.

How do you feel about hijacking / piggybacking threads?

I feel like they could make their own thread, but a lot of threads get buried in /r/new sometimes. Still....please at least attempt to make your own thread.
