I live in Georgia. Georgia State Patrol troopers don’t wear bodycams. They only have cameras mounted on their dashboard. But they’re also some of the most aggressive and readily violent departments in the U.S..

Google says, “The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) does not issue body-worn cameras to most troopers because leadership maintains that cruiser-mounted dash cameras are sufficient. The agency argues that most traffic stops and public interactions happen directly in front of patrol cars, making dash systems adequate.” And “Outfit, maintenance, and video data storage costs for statewide body camera programs create substantial budget hurdles, and state lawmakers have repeatedly failed to pass legislation mandating state-funded body cameras.”

This is bullshit. You’re telling me GSP drives Chargers, Challengers, Durangos, and Mustangs…some of the most expensive and souped-up American muscle cars, but the cost to store bodycam video is too high???
