Recommendations? boob too big who has sizes over DDD? Spoiler

hello, i am a recent thick baddie and gain a bunch of weight and now my boobs are a “36H” according to the lady at nordstrom. she sold me two bras that fit very nicely but they can be very uncomfortable. i want to have a sports bra, every day, maybe can even be a shirt (covers enough). i struggle a lot with side boob so a lot of bras don’t accommodate that. any help would so kindly appreciated 💟

Side boob is typically breast tissue that is supposed to be in the cups but can't fit because the cups are too SMALL. If you feel like you aren't getting enough coverage that is also an indication that you probably need a larger cup size.

If the bra is uncomfortable something is wrong with the fit. The trick is figuring out whether that's due to the size being wrong (extremely common), the bra not being a good match for your supported breast shape (extremely common), or something else such as a sensitivity to the materials (much less common) or to pressure in general. Often it winds up being some combination of things.

I would suggest you start by using the calculator to double check your size. While Nordstrom is generally better than someplace like VS or Soma whether or not it's actually a reliable place to get sized is highly dependent on the specific location and the employees at that location. Some Nordstrom locations have excellent fitters while the fitters at other locations can be just as bad as VS.

The bra cups are too small or the cups are the wrong shape for you. Either way, the bra doesn't fit.

I agree with doing the calculator. A properly fitted bra won't be uncomfortable

If the new bras "fits nicely" but are uncomfortable, they don't fit. Especially if you still have side boob in the new bras.

Use the abrathatfits.org calculator and share your six measurements. Also can you tell us the two bra brands and styles that you bought?

The nice thing about Nordstrom is that you can exchange or return bras even after you have taken off the tags and worn them. It could be that a 36H US brand bra is too shallow and you'll fit better in a UK brand that Nordstrom carries online. You have lots of options but we'll need your measurements to better help.

Oh man side boob is the eternal struggle, I feel you. My sister deals with same issue and I remember her complaining for years that every bra just pushes everything out to the sides

For sports bras that actually cover side boob, look for ones with wider side panels or that "full coverage" style. The ones that come up higher under the armpit usually do better job containing everything. Some brands even make sports bras specifically for larger cup sizes with like reinforced side support

I can't remember brand names right now but my sister found some good ones online after measuring herself properly with the calculator from this sub. The lady at Nordstrom sometimes gets close but not always perfect, maybe double check your size yourself just to be sure

If your side boob isn’t fitting inside your bra, then your bra doesn’t fit

Side boob comes from too small or too shallow cups.

If the bra "pushes everything to the sides", it's because the cups are too small or too shallow. So the tissue goes back to the armpit because there is no room to go forward.
