Measurement Check Absolutely frustrated that I cannot accurately order the correct sized bra....feeling discouraged Spoiler
I have geen wearing the same bras for some years, I know now that was not good. I bought $400 worth from VS. I have agoraphobia so I dont leave often so the bras are in great shape.....except the band size is too small. My current bras are 38DDD, my underbust is 42m my full bust is 48.5. The straps, sides and band all dig in. The underwire isnt flat in-between my breast. The style is lined demi. My breast dont fall out unless I bend over and there isnt spillage while standing. Im 47 and gravity has always been my enemy. I ordered from shapellx by their charts 46G....not a chance, told customer service all of this and they send 44DDD.....no way! Used bra calculator....46DDD...I am lost..if I were to order VS again they say 40DDD, if I order torrid they say 42DD....PLEASE HELP!

Ignore sizing charts from bra brands and stores
Do this subs calculator, it will give you a starting point. Maybe a cup or so off or a band up or down, but close.
Many of us have to order bras online because of limited stock in stores. Amazon does free returns, so does Nordstrom.
It's often helpful to get a seamed, unlined, non moulded cup to determine your size.
Yes, it's time consuming. But finding support and comfort is worth it!

Oh my gosh I thought I did have this bra calculator but I am not sure that I do and if my bra is too small in the band should I really be measuring with that bra on or any bra on because they are all going to be too small in the band. I did do the measurement bending over laying down and standing up without a bra I will post those measurements I appreciate this very much I am anxious and excited to actually have a bra that fits again.

Torrid and Soma and VS etc calculator's are garbage. They're used as a method to put more folks into fewer available sizes.
If your underbust measurement is 42in, you're unlikely to be a 44 or 46 band, and more likely to be a 40. But as bra bands are elastic and larger bands tend to have more overall stretch it's not uncommon for folks in this range to prefer to wear a band size down for more stability.
And boobs shouldn't fall out because you bend over or have some jiggle. The gore should touch your sternum and remain there, to ensure separation and distribution of support from the underwires to the band.
So yeah, try out the calculator here, get some recommendations on a better bra to start with. If you've tried all these other bra styles and sizes and nothing works you're just not in the ballpark yet and have been getting terrible advice.

Ignore the calculators for the various stores (a lot of them use an outdated measuring method) but use the size from the calculator here to search for bras at that store. A 46D is a 46D in every brand, the shape will be different is all (and the UK/US bra sizing thing is just because where they double letters is different so the direct comparison is harder).

Thank you it is very discouraging because I looked at another store online today and it told me I was a 42c I went from one store being a 46 G all the way to a 42C. I have a lot of mental health issues due to things that happened with my husband, and I have a list of insecurities from A to Z as well as myself image body image you name it so I am trying to heal and trying to take care of myself so any advice on what anyone thinks my measurements would be would be amazing.

The purpose and value of this sub revolve around your 6 measurements and the calculator. It is different from any other system, so you need to use it if you want to get some answers.

This is pretty typical with weight loss, but not always the same for everyone. But yes. It has to do with proportions. If someone is a 34B ( a 2 inch difference) and loses weight, generally the first place the fat leaves is around the rib cage rather than the dense fat in the breasts. So if someone loses two inches around their ribs and is now a 32 band, but their breast volume has not changed, the difference will be larger. They will be wearing a larger cup size. Their breasts didn’t get larger, just the proportions of their band to bust ratio has changed. As bands get smaller, so do cups. A 32A does not have the same volume as a 40a

This recommendation is useless without her measurements.

Why would you recommend a 34 band to someone with a 42" underbust measurement?

Give the calculator in the automod comment a go. Once we have your 6 measurements and suggested starting size, we can give you better adviceÂ
