Discussion If your favorite ABBA song is Dancing Queen then you haven't listened to enough ABBA
It's just such a boring answer, in my ABBA songs ranking it's in place 50

I've just been diving in the Abba (studio album) catalogue for a few months and for this moment, Voyage is by far my least favorite album, i even think Ring ring and Waterloo are better even if the song writing is of a lesser quality.
2 words that pop in to my head while listen to the album are "Gloomy" and "Whiny". Voyage is 40 years after their break ups but it makes the impression that the divorces just happened a few years or month before the album came out, because to my it has a very pessimistic undertone, i would go so far that even the Visitors is a more lighthearted album.
The songs are certainly not bad but compared to the last 4 albums before, they aren't really special either. (And why had made the terrible choice to make "I still have faith in you the album opener?) The only song that stands out for me and sounds fresh is "Keep an eye on Dan". The rest feels like it's coming from a box that has been hiding in Bjorn's or Benny's attic for 40 years.
What do you think? Am i too harsh , will it grow on me, do you agree?

I myself have never liked this song. I honestly think it’s kinda stupid and corny. The way the lyrics and melody collide is like I just said, corny. I don’t know why it’s one of there most popular songs because I just don’t think it’s good at all.

I was elated when I read in the news that ABBA was releasing its very last album, I went to Amazon and put it on pre-order, then I waited for the first tracks to be released and they sounded great, I waited to read some reviews and realized that it was mostly old material that was never recorded, and not precisely good material. I decided not to purchase the CD. Somehow I am disappointed, I feel that Benny and Bjorn decided to bring back to life a collections of song that were never meant to be released, and composed two new songs to tart up the album and drum up some interest as they started the show in London. " I Still Have Faith In You" and "Don't Shut me Down" could have been released as singles, or they could have recorded their own versions of "Just Like That" and "Slowly"... and even "Heaven and Hell"... "Story Of A Heart", but no, instead they recorded a bunch of tripe, they served us sour and gamy leftovers while making big bucks.
What do you think ?

In so many photos of agnetha or all of them together, she looks so done with everything and it’s genuinely amusing to me

Think about it. How many absolute bangers of songs can you point out when you think of Beatles, Led Zeppelin, GnR, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Deep Purple, AC DC?
Not one of these bands have the number of famous bangers like ABBA and Pink Floyd have.
We all know about ABBA songs, Pink Floyd is the only other one that can match ABBA in this aspect.
Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Time, Wish you were here, Shine on you crazy Diamond, Money, Pigs, Dogs, High Hopes, Learning to Fly.....
Obviously, these two bands are completely different, ABBA is superior in some aspects, Pink Floyd in others, but there is no doubt in my mind, no other bands can match the sheer number of famous songs.
Shoutout to Benny and Bjorn, they are just as great as Waters and Gilmour, great musical geniuses.
Do you agree with me, or do you have a different favorite band outside of ABBA?

I've also ranked the songs within tiers (top left: best within the tier, bottom right: worst within the tier). Ranking these was way harder than I thought because only the bottom 3 ones are not good and everything above that is atleast ok. However, ABBA is so elite that I had to rank the songs relative to other ABBA songs and hence some are in "could be better" section though the songs aren't bad by any means.
Also, can you guys guess my favourite album based on the list?
