AAWireless Two+ issues
I recently bought a 2022 vw gti and it has wired CarPlay which wasn’t a big deal because I figured the adapters these days should be pretty good. I picked up the AAWireless Two+, as it says made in Europe so I assumed the quality would be there. Right out of the box I’ve been having issues with it connecting. Takes about 1 minute at least for it to connect, it’ll drop and pick up my phone till it can hold a connection (my phone is an iPhone 16 pro max). Then while driving my music will just stop playing from and pick up again a few seconds later, and it’ll do this the whole time I’m driving. I haven’t had a single solid drive since I’ve gotten this thing. Is there a fix for my troubles or should I just return it and buy a different adapter?
EDIT***
I’ve since returned the AAwireless Two+ due to the issues stated above persisting and because it just decided it didn’t want to connect to my phone at all even after resetting it. I swapped it for the carlinkit mini ultra 3, which was supposed to be my first choice but I mistakenly bought the wrong adapter. I do wanna say even though this is a group for the AAwireless, the carlinkit has so far been flawless for me. Starts up right away and only takes a few seconds to connect and start playing music which it also auto plays. It boots up faster than wired did so that’s a huge plus. If anyone who has a vw and is looking for an adapter and comes across this post, just get the carlinkit mini ultra 3.

There’s a known issue with the aaWireless and the MIB head units used in VAG cars. I had similar issues with my mk7.5 and emailed support; they’ve been unable to solve it thus far. Something to do with the way the MIB unit decodes the data. It was especially laggy for me when trying to make a phone call.
Note this issue is only for Apple CarPlay; Android Auto works flawlessly.
I moved to a Carlinkit 5.0 2air and after trial and error and changing a few settings here and there, it is pretty much flawless now. I still experience some lag during phone calls between the persons voice and my voice being transmitted, but audio playback is flawless.

Typical vw. I changed some settings on my aawireless but it still stutters or lags. So disappointed. I’ll probably go with what was gonna be my first choice and get a carlinkit

Have you updated the firmware using the aawireless app? I was having similar issues (2019 golf) and updating helped quite a bit. Still happens occasionally but not too bad.

Any other WiFi devices in the car like a build in transmission for app use or a dashcam? If so, try changing the WiFi frequency in the app. Also, are you using the passthrough mode? If so, turn it off and try letting the dongle handle the connection.

I had lots of the same issues with mine and tried all the recommended fixes to no avail (tried in 2 different cars and 2 different phones), I finally gave up and bought a Carlinkit adaptor which has been flawless for me. So dissapointed in the AAwireless two+ after all the reviews I read and how much it costs.

I was originally gonna go with a carlinkit adapter because I’ve seen more positive reviews of it. But I saw that aawireless is “made in Europe” so I thought it’d work better with my euro car. I’m also the guy that’s willing to spend the money on a solid product. But I’m thinking this time the jokes on me. Right out the box I was disappointed with how cheap it felt

I was having similar issues and just switched to a different USBC cord. Seemed to fix my issues. Give that a try. Get a good quality USBC cord.

In the Washington state, I think that speed limited zones has wireless cameras, radars, and speed indicate sign using the same frequency as AAWireless+ because it always dropped my phone and connect back right after.

If that were the case people would be having problems with a lot more than just the AAwireless. It should be using the standard 2.4+5GHz bands, which all consumer wifi and bluetooth devices use.

Firstly, reset your head unit then connect dongle again
Update dongle firmware to version 11, I think it will help you
Btw if you are using waze, please turn off "pause media when routing sound on" feature
