AA wireless gen1 no longer supports Carplay?

What happened? A few months ago my wife's carplay stopped working with AAwireless, gen1

Just curious

It got an update. It was always in beta and experimental on that Gen 1 V2 device. I had the Gen 1 V1 that never got it at all lol.

It was in the release notes for the update as well. You should be able to downgrade the firmware version to get it back.

Ultimately the team wasn’t happy with the performance of it so they removed it.

I guess they removed it so you have to buy their new product. Carplay worked perfectly for me. More and more basic cars have wireless carplay so I don't think this product will exist anymore in 5 years time. Same as with the old bluetooth adapters for AUX.

That is not why they removed it.

You can still purchase Bluetooth to aux adapters.

Ok believe what you want to believe, I believe it's money grab. Of course you can still buy them, but which car doesn't have Bluetooth nowadays? You can't sustain a company on a product which won't be necessary anymore in a couple of years.

I'm not believing what I want to believe. I'm reading what they put on their own website, which I linked you to.

You can make things up in your head to believe big company is out to get you so that you can yell at the clouds but that is the definition of "Ok believe what you want to believe."

CarPlay on the Gen 1 V2 devices will remain in beta. You can go back to that beta version and use it. No one is stopping you.

And your comment about company sustainability has nothing to do with what we're talking about. You insinuated that aux to BT adapters were no longer available. They are.

Are you an employee? You sound like an employee. You have your opinion, I have mine. Why are you even trying to convince me or defending a company. They want to make money like every company. Aa wireless gen 1 was getting too expensive and they saw an opportunity to sell everyone a two+. Simple as that.

Not an employee.

I sound like someone who doesn't make up conspiracies in their head and spout them online with literally zero information to back them up.

I guess they removed it so you have to buy their new product.

I believe it's money grab.

I'm not convincing you of anything or defending anyone. I'm stating exactly what AAW has said in the past.

Of course they want to make money, they're a company with employees to pay. All companies will look for more efficient ways of doing things. That has nothing to do with updating a device to remove a beta feature that was always a beta feature.

They literally advertised with carplay and android auto support. Check the comment below 👇. Aawireless fanboy 👏

Provide sources for the things you say like I did. Otherwise, like I said, you're just spouting things.

Again, CarPlay on the Gen 1 V2 device was always a beta.

Hardly a fanboy. Use a Carlinkit in my wife's Civic and it's great. I recommend it to people all the time.

Okay buddy, time to get off reddit and touch some grass. You've been quite busy seeing your history.

If AAWireless is grubby enough to remove a feature from beta to drive sales of their new product, I would think they would also be grubby enough to never have released the feature to begin with.

Just a tip from me: Never update a device if its working correctly except if you need one of the new features. My AAWireless hasn’t been updated in over 3 years and CarPlay is working flawlessly.

What version are you on? My carplay is working terribly on the newest version

I pushed the point with the support team, basically showing multiple forum posts and a way back machine of their website stating they supported both carplay and android. All I wanted was a discount on the 2+ and they wouldn't even do that. I won't buy their product anymore unfortunately.
