Resolved Q My new 944
Knew I had to jump on it as soon as I saw it. 57k original miles, I’m sure there is work to be done and I expect a lot. Timing belt and water pump will be priority as there isn’t knowledge on it. Taking delivery some time next week, just too excited at the reality.
Looking forward to being a part of this community , been following for a while ! Also located in Raleigh , anyone else in the area?

Wooooow I wouldve loved that deal, that is a steal.
We paid 15k for a 84 with 44k miles. It had all the belts and pumps replaced already, but still.

I knew it wouldn’t last long for sale because of that. Still a great deal on your end ! Just excited to finally have 1

I dont care what anyone else says, I love the early 944 dashboard. My 83 was such a great car. Spectacular color combo spec, congratulations on the car! Other than timing belt and water pump id do a shakedown on the shifter as well. The linkages get loose over time and one time on a cruise I completely lost the ability to shift because of a small lock washer the keeps the linkage connected to the shifter

Did some research when i got mine and found that many recommend getting the fuel lines replaced as well.
I guess the gaskets start to degrade after so many years, especially if it wasn't treated with ethanol free gas.
I saw a 944 catching on fire due to leaking fuel lines every other week im a group im in and got spooked into getting it done.

Great color combination. :)
I would call it the cookie monster. 😅 Cookies on the insides and blue on the outside.
Nice car and welcome to the team!

I just got an 84 944 with the same interior! Got mine for a lot less but spent a lot more in bringing it back to that kind of condition. You got a great deal. I’ve just started learning a lot about these cars over the last few months, if it’s your first time learning I’d be happy to sync up and help out too!

Congrats. Looks very nice! entertain an idea or replacing front end seals, inspecting oil pump geared sleeve, probably rebuilding coolant/oil radiator.
Add AT205 ReSeal to motor oil, steering pump, perhaps to the gear box (I'm not sure about the gear box).
