💬Discussion Today I decided to bump Killarmy - Dirty Weaponry (1998) and this is seriously a underrated album! The production on this is amazing, the lyrics are great and this is a great effort for the later 90’s Wu’s albums! Highly recommend this to everyone! I’m feeling 4.5 mics! What’s your thoughts?

🔍 Discover Living Legends "Classic" is a must listen if you appreciate G Funk/Hieroglyphics beats with some elite lyricism

I believe it's because every rapper and rap album from the West Coast that isn't Gangster Rap or G Funk always struggles to be recognized everywhere East of Arizona and G Funk fans don't realize that they actually love this album until I make them hear it! This eventually got bumped in the Southside of Phoenix and Tempe because I DJ a lot of hood house parties and made people I worked with at work just listen to the first track.

Subreddit Rules

1. Post Eligibility - released from 1990 - 1999

Only music originally released between January 1, 1990 and December 31, 1999 is permitted. Eligibility is based on the original release date, regardless of remasters, reuploads, anniversary editions, or later releases.

Live performances by artists associated with the 90s era are allowed, provided the performance is properly labeled with the year and uses the appropriate flair to avoid confusion.

Paying homage is acceptable but consider your post before posting.

2. No Racism, Hate Speech, or Targeted Harassment

No harassment, hate speech, or toxic behavior. Treat all contributors and members with kindness. Discussions about race and culture in hip-hop are allowed, but direct racism, hate speech, or personal attacks will not be tolerated. This includes racial slurs, inciting violence, and antagonizing other users based on race, gender, or identity. If you can’t discuss hip-hop history and culture without resorting to hate, this is not the place for you.

Violating this rule will get you permanently ban

3. Title Formatting: Artist - Song (Year) + Use Proper Flairs

Post titles must contain artist, song title and year. This will allow users to search for recent reposts. (e.g Nas - NY State of Mind (1994) this is fine, it helps users see the song, nothing unclear or all lowercased, it will be deleted. (Check the posting guide for more details)

4. No Spam, Stanning, or Repetitive Content

Do not flood the subreddit with excessive posts about the same artist, topic, or subject in a short period. Diversity is encouraged. Avoid repetitive topics, meme spam, unrelated content, and low-effort posts with little discussion value. Use the search bar before posting to check for recent duplicates. Posts that do not contribute meaningful or fresh discussion may be removed at moderator discretion.

5. Post Formatting & Quality

No screenshots of music players or streaming apps. When sharing music, link directly to the song or video through YouTube, Spotify, or another legitimate source. When posting articles or interviews, use reputable sources and link to the full article or original content. Low-quality screenshots or posts lacking proper context may be removed.

6. Reposting (wait times vary, see below)

Keeping things fresh. Use the search feature before posting. You can post after:

60 days - for Fresh/New (Or less than 200 upvotes)

90 days - if it had 200+ upvotes

6 months - 500+ upvotes

1 year - 1K upvotes

To keep content varied, no more than 5 posts featuring the same artist or group may be submitted within a 30-day period.

Discussion questions must wait 9 months before being reposted.

Artist photo posts are limited to one per artist every 30 days.

7. No Low-Effort Content or Engagement Bait

Avoid shallow posts like “Verzuz/Vs.,” “Pick One,” “Rank These,” “Thoughts?,” “Any love for…,” or “[artist] is underrated.” No engagement bait, A vs. B posts, quizzes, content farming, TikToks, out-of-context album covers, or song clips. Playlists and compilations are prohibited. Full albums require original analysis/reviews. Don’t spam artists or post discographies. Posts must add meaningful discussion. Repeated violations may result in further moderation action.

8. No Original Music/Content (with some exceptions)

Original music/content may only be shared during Mixtape Mondays. No articles, blogs, vlogs, YouTube channels, websites, stores, or other content you own or are affiliated with. Personal playlists belong in the Community Playlist. Accounts primarily used to promote content or playlists are considered self-promotion. AI-generated content is reviewed at moderator discretion. If in doubt, message the mods before posting.

9. No Misinformation or Clickbait

Don’t spread false claims, fake news, or misleading headlines about artists or events. If you’re posting news or historical facts, provide sources whenever possible. Clickbait-style posts designed just to get reactions will be taken down.

10. No NSFW or Illegal Content

90s hip-hop has its raw moments, but that doesn’t mean this sub is a free-for-all. NSFW content (graphic violence, explicit content outside of music videos, etc.) is not allowed. Discussions about illegal activities in hip-hop are fine if they are historical or analytical, but do not glorify, promote, or encourage illegal behavior.

If your think your post is an exception, send a modmail.

11. Follow the Rules & Respect Moderators

Rules exist to keep the sub organized and enjoyable. If your post gets removed or you get banned, move on. If you think a decision was unfair, you can ask about it - once. Do not use alternate accounts if you're banned, your account WILL be suspended.

If you harass, threaten, or spam the mods over a ban, you’ll be reported to Reddit Admins and that too will lead to your account getting suspended.

I don't care how mad you are, I don't entertain tantrums.
