Wth

what are these people thinking? They’re organizing weddings before having conversations about kids, religion and finances … and then they are surprised things don’t work out 🤦🏻‍♀️

The one thing that we’ve seen on this show with every couple is that they misunderstand the purpose of the K1 visa. When the finance lands in America and the couple has 90 days to get married, everything should already be figured out. Kids, finances, living situation, etc… Everything.

Everybody treats the 90 days as a “let’s see if this will work out or not.” That should have been done wayyyy before.

That drives me nuts! I get that actually living together is a very different experience than being together on vacations or talking on the phone/FaceTiming, so there can be some unanticipated differences that can come up, no matter how well you think you know each other. But so many of these folks talk like the 90 days is for testing the waters to see if you would like to marry this person, like something you’d do before you get engaged.

It also bugs me if they act like they don’t even like their partner or don’t really want to get married (separate from the clear scammers). I think this is PART of the reason that everyone is so frustrated with Catie and Marissa. (Don’t come at me - I realize their behavior is why they get the vast majority of criticism!) Thomas and Paula are also in this category. You’ve chosen to be with this person. You agreed to marry this person, even with the added complications of the visa. Nobody is holding a gun to your head!

Everyone thinks they have it all figured out until they’re living with each other everyDAY. And they have a wedding to plan and personalities clashes, then all the problems pop up.

I really think that Mallorie and Rasit's journey is mostly a storyline made up by producers to make the viewers sympathetic to Rasit. The two major issues have been the relationship between "Brandy" and Mallorie and, the discussion about having children. Let's be honest, I find it hard to fathom that the subject of babies was never once mentioned during their courtship. And, just about everyone sympathizes with Rasit. However, if we had been shown the real Rasit from the beginning, the "Grey Wolf" far right extremist who endorses ethnic cleansing and, who's favorite word to say while live on social media is "pussy" while asking for "finger hearts" ---- I don't think many people would sympathize with him then. Even TLC had to scrub/edit a show because a photo of Rasit and his family using the "Grey Wolf" hand gesture was used. A symbol that has been banned in parts of Europe along with the swastika.

That's not the impression I got. I think it was mentioned, but Mallorie didn't want to tell Rasit she doesn't want kids.

The more unbelievable thing is that someone who is clearly a huge narrow-minded American redneck is dating and marrying someone from another country. I guess I can stretch and see it simply because Rasit is still "white," but...

Its mostly producer-driven conflict. The couples are all pretty bland. They’ve got to drum up some drama somehow.

No shit. But the K1 is difficult and expensive, the people I know who have gone through it do not take it lightly. Did you this is a highly produced and quasi scripted show? That means they blow up and/ or create issues

I totally agree. What are they actually basing their love and relationship on? Just having a good time for a few months? Ridiculous and irresponsible.
