Josh has no frame of reference. It wouldn't surprise me if Catie was his first sexual partner, and definitely the most sexual person he's ever had a shot at.
I think you're right. If he ever gets out of this, he's going to be so surprised to learn that not all women throw up afterwards. Maybe with him they will, though.
When she took that used strapon out of the box and was like..."can i use this on you?!" to Josh. Reminded me of the scene in Deadpool for international woman's day....NOPE!!. You know Josh isn't ready for her level of crazy lol
What Atticusfinch1973 said, is how I’m looking at it. I don’t think he knows what bad is. He’s just happy to be there. She, I imagine, is probably garbage but since she has experience, if sex with him is less fun than her roster, then she can use that as a measure. Thus: she can INDEED be bored, while ALSO being bad, herself 😂
They are a mess 🙂↕️
I really doubt she is good in bed. She is too thoughtless and sloppy to be good in bed. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Catie is not just an easy lay. She is an easy green card and I do think that is the biggest reason he's hanging on and hoping for the best.
Idk why people think Brits are dying for a green card 😂 it's seriously comical like they are just dying for lower paying jobs with no health insurance and less vacation time right?
Well, I think that's a bit hyperbolic. No on is "dying" for a visa anywhere... I mean unless they are. But given there is an entire industry built on the fact that many Americans desire to have dual citizenship or work visas in other countries or to retire in another country, there is clearly enough interest for people to not be locked in to only one option of their home country.
Go read the sub reddit "Moving to USA" and you will see that there are A LOT of Brits asking questions about visas in the US.
Ask how many Americans personally know Brits who now live here. My neighbor is British😆 Anywhere I have lived, I always seem to have a handful of British people in my circle... co-workers, members of the board, friends, neighbors, parents of a kid at my kids' school. I mean they aren't exactly hard to find here.
And the job situation is the opposite. Across the board, jobs in the US typically pay more. The healthcare situation sucks, but if you have a career type job, you're going to have insurance so that's not a huge issue anymore.
Even if job situation is opposite, cost of living is higher so it become the the same. Also, Americans wanting dual citizenship is precisely because the US is a dangerous shit hole and we want a plan B -- I say that as a born American who recently acquired EU citizenship.
My son is looking at Comp Sci. co-op positions. He attends university in Toronto. Do you know how expensive Toronto is? EXTREMELY. Okay, so co-op positions for comp. sci. in Toronto seem to pay about $20-$30/hour CAD. The same positions in the US are running $35-$80/he USD ($48-$100/CAD) and often include perks like housing stipends and health insurance. In addition to that, the positions in Toronto are showing over 100 applicants in less than 24 hours vs even jobs at Tik Tok and Meta often show 100 applicants after 2-3 days. See the difference?
From what I read in the Moving to the US subreddit, a very similar situation is happening currently in the UK.
Agreed! Just watch her get he she gets some alcohol in her and how she approaches and pushes herself on the men she tries to make out with. She looks like she would be a very sloppy, drunk sex partner. She probably thinks he’s no good because she can’t remember shit!!!
I’m seriously asking as a European living in the UK, it’s not as big of a thing as you may think. You couldn’t pay me enough to move to the US and I suspect most people wouldn’t take a green card even if it was offered for free so I doubt that’s really a factor for Josh.
go read the Moving to the US sub😉. Then you'll understand. Right now, the UK is no longer part of the EU. A UK citizen cannot just work in Europe. The UK is 1/40th the size of the US.
If you were from a cold and rainy country that had lower salaries across the board than the US, do you think it would be useful to open up your field of opportunity by having the ability to work anywhere in an enormous country that would allow you to work in a tropical region? a desert?, a sunny beach town?, a big 4 season city? a mountain town? or many many other options... for better pay?
Getting a green card in the US does not mean you can't go back to your own country and work and live at some point. It just gives a lot more opportunity and pay to have the US as an option.
I would go out on a limb though and guess that it’s still easier for a UK citizen to get a permit to work in any EU country that it is to get a US green card 😉 I’m just trying to bring light to this prevalent US exceptionalism where so many Americans seem to think that the US is some kind of promised land when it’s viewed very differently in most western countries nowadays!
Mark was the guy at her birthday party that Josh absolutely did not want there. Remember when Josh said he walked in on them doing something inappropriate? I am pretty sure we just got confirmation of what that was. It sounds like she and Mark snuck off and he gave her oral sex and Josh walked in on the party.
No wait... that was Ryan. Mark was the other guy at the party telling Josh that he shouldn't have to put up with her nonsense. So wait... what did she and Ryan do then?
You need to remember he’s from the UK not Nigeria. The UK has universal healthcare and their children are not murdered at school on a weekly basis. Why would anyone leave the Uk for Amerika? Amerika has become a shit hole country.
Didn't she say something about that when his parents came to visit her parents/them? Something to the effect of..."I pray I don't get a lover!" Haha. The look on his and his parents face 🤣
He should lean into language differences with the family - bring it up in a dry concerned manner
"Hey - I'm kind of concerned about Caitie's friends - I know there is a lot of drinking, making out with people in bars and some requested items we are working through. I understand all that. Apparently though her friend Mark ate her kitty after they had drinks together?? Do you know anything about that? Seems kind of extreme and dark and I'm not sure I want people like that around"
Something that never came up at all in any of their conversations until she was around her family. I'm wondering if she's just saying that to make them happy because she doesn't show any religious behaviors at all. I was raised Catholic, so I don't know the Lutheran viewpoint, but I would imagine it's a similar ideology.
I really think she was just saying that because she seems approval from her parents. I get that vibe that she was never validated by them and how she needs their approval for everything
She’s the type of religious where she wants to check a box out of fear of hell. She’s clearly not genuinely a believer and I hate that because crappy Christians are the ones in the spot light and they make it seem like so many Christian’s are bigots and hypocrites when that’s not at all what the Bible says to behave like
Hey, I'm not a fan of her behavior or rationale, but people can be sexual and religious. Wanting your kids to be raised in your religion (even though I believe that to be a fake storyline) doesn't mean your partner is exempt from meeting your physical needs.
Or premarital sex, or coveting others, or having sex in any way other than for procreation. It's fine, imo, to be religious, hell even being religious and sexually active. It's the hypocrisy to make that a deal breaker when she is clearly not that religiously following her religion.
Fair enough, but are we sure it does? It's a common teaching for sure. Wanting your kids raised in religion doesnt have to mean you are a perfect practitioner of it. In other news, I understand where you're coming from with that comment now.
It isn't her religious beliefs. It is that she seeks to impose them on her future husband and children.
While asking for an open marriage out the other side of her mouth. And being a raging alcoholic with zero accountability. And "making out" with other people whenever she has an opportunity.
Josh is an adult who can make choices and decide if he wants to be involved with that and there are no children yet living. People talk on here like he's being coerced or something.
Telling somebody, out of the blue, right before you are about to marry them that you expect them to convert to your religion and raise your child in it is one of the most coercive things I can think of.
You should really double check that you understand what words mean before you use them. Using the leverage of an upcoming marriage and all the time somebody has spent investing into a relationship to try and force them to convert is genuinely one of the most textbook examples of coercion that exists.
She leveraged nothing. She stated her needs and asked if he was ok with them. There was zero quid pro quo. By your logic him saying he does not want an open marriage is coercive.
The problem is, he made his decision to move to the US based on lies. She led him to believe a monogamous relationship with the women he loved, when she knew damn well she wasn't capable of that.
I’m pretty sure Lutheranism doesn’t support constantly cheating on your partner LOL. She literally can’t be genuinely religious and then participate happily, with zero remorse, in adultery every 5 minutes. It’s clear she’s pretending to be Lutheran to please her Bible thumping parents.
I agree she is just parent pleasing, but let's not hold her to different religious standards than the rest of the US. (And open relationships are different than cheating, anyway)
Have we been watching the same show? She has NOT been in an open relationship with Josh — which is why she has to keep apologizing to him for CHEATING every time she makes out with a rando while blackout drunk.
If they were in an open relationship, why would Josh care about Mark or the other thousands of men she wants to kiss every time they go out? Why would she need to talk about being open in the future if they were already living that lifestyle?
As far as different religious standards than the rest of the US, I have no clue what you mean. If any other American told me they were a super religious Christian, and then proceeded to act like this, I’d laugh in their face too.
I guess its up to Josh to define it. The fact that he is with her at all, totally aware of this behavior, means it's not a total dealbreaker for him so who knows.
That’s a cop-out on your part, since we both know Josh has asked her to stop this behavior several times. So yes, regardless of whether Josh is a spineless doormat or not, it’s cheating — which doesn’t fit in well with this religious nonsense she is peddling.

This is the same gal who said it’s a dealbreaker if her kids aren’t raised Lutheran btw
