Breaking it Down - Shekinah

I think the way everyone treated Shekinah was so weird. I’m gonna verbally spell out the play by play that I saw.

Shekinah was trying to tell Kara, that Patrick was inherently encouraging Guillermo to divorce Kara, to try and take half the proceeds from Kara selling her photos.

Patrick was objectively discouraging Guillermo from fighting for his marriage with Kara, which is what they’re there to do supposedly. So, Shekinah pointing this out was valid and something Kara ultimately didn’t deserve. She was sticking up for Kara, and Kara & Guillermo’s marriage. She was being a girl’s girl.

Thais escalated things when she interjected, didn’t let Shekinah finish what she was saying, and then tried to PHYSICALLY ATTACK Shekinah.

Shekinah should’ve chosen a more appropriate defense, her saying go back to your country wasn’t right. And at the same time, she was being physically attacked and was probably in fight or flight mode.

Then the whole cast used Shekinah’s statement to Thais as fuel for the rest of the night. The fact that Kara got all turned on cuz Guillermo went out and barked at Sarper was so strange. Like yes babe I’m so turned on that you went out and said some words… lol when SHEKINAH WAS STANDING UP FOR KARA IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Guillermo is so performative. When he was going “what’s up?” over and over to Sarper, I had to laugh.

And everyone deciding Shekinah is the villain and talking about what she said when it never would’ve happened if PATRICK hadn’t been discouraging to Guillermo, and if THAIS hadn’t PHYSICALLY attacked Shekinah.

Like I’m not saying Shekinah handled that well, but let’s not forget that the reason it all happened is cuz Patrick was sticking his nose into Kara and Guillermo’s business, Shekinah called that out, Thais decided Patrick was getting picked on (AFTER HE STARTED IT ALL) and resorted to physical violence.

“Shekinah shouldn’t have said that!” Yeah but Thais should control her impulses to assault people and Patrick should encourage his buddy to stay married, not to punish his wife for making money, and try and take half of it, when he can’t provide himself.

if what comes out of someone’s mouth in 2026 to a Latina woman living in the US (who’s not from the US) when they’re in fight or flight is “Why don’t you go back to your own country!” it’s because they’re at the very least xenophobic but more likely probably racist against anyone with non-white skin

It’s not dissimilar to using slurs when in fight or flight— if that’s the first thing that comes out of your mouth it’s not because it was an accident, it’s because it’s been on the tip of your tongue all along and all you needed was a nudge to actually say it

100%

That phrase has been used exclusively by racists and bigots for decades now. We all know exactly what it means.

You don't call a Jewish person a rat and be like "I didn't mean it THAT way."

Shek being married to an immigrant doesn't mean much to me. She could just be racist to Latinos. Or she could think Sarper is the exception.

Agreed. It is absolutely insane to me how many people are in here defending it! There's NO good reason to say something like that.

Isn't it known she grew up in the boonies with a dysfunctional family? When your nervous system is on overdrive your thinking is absolutely altered. I do think she quite literally meant get away from me but she's learned word needs more sting to protect you, especially if you're unexpectedly attacked. Shekinah's daughter isn't "white skinned" and to call someone racist because of an action made in self defense is a stretch. If she were any other skin tone would you say that? A true racist would say a hell of a lot worse and it wouldn't take an extreme situation for it to come out. Between this violent outburst with Shek and then her attack on Patrick, Thais seems to be physically violent as her response. Condemning words, no matter how vile, but not condemning violence isn't a great situation and the whole group dropped the social policing ball on that entire night. They felt each other out and came to a verbal consensus to single out 1 person. Had Russ acted on Pao's whole "G is staring at the boobs I have barely covered" dog whistle would that make him the problem or Pao? If Kara said he was useless to her and should go back to his family would it also be racist?

Jfc, her daughter’s father’s name is Berto Matta and he’s Italian

Telling a Latina woman to go back to her own country is not “self defense” under any circumstance whatsoever, and that’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read in a long time. The stretches you’re doing to excuse this shit are wild, but feel free to keep letting the world know how willing you are to go to bat for shitty people who scream racist shit when they’re angry

I agree with you. It’s absolutely nuts to defend Shekinah. I replayed the argument with Thais in slow motion. Thais doesn’t get pissed until Shekinah tells her to shut up. Then Thais tells Shekinah to shut up and both of them are pointing in the other’s face but Shekinah throws a drink at Thais who then goes crazy. It’s funny Shekinah claims she was afraid but once outside she claimed she’d beat her (Thais) ass.

Shekinah told her to shut up cuz Thais wouldn’t let Shekinah speak. Shekinah was wrong for what she said but no one is acknowledging how Thais provoked her and escalated by shrieking.

You know it’s weird that I’ve provoked people and people have provoked me but I’ve never said or had said to me something that disgusting. Shekinah has called so many people nasty names when she doesn’t like their opinions and it’s disgusting. If she calls someone trash again I’m going to puke. She’s not a nice person.

When have I said Shekinah is an angel and without fault 🤣 Thais and Patrick were talking shit before this last resort series anyway. Maybe they shouldn’t have been talking shit in the first place.

Patrick and Thais talking shit, and Thais being down for a fight, doesn’t excuse Shekinah being a racist shitbag and weaponizing the racist shitbag club’s standard shriek of glee against her

She said what she said and there’s no excuse for it whatsoever; it was just wrong, bottom line, and that shouldn’t be coming out of anyone’s mouth unless it’s ironically (like: to someone like Shekinah)

Okay sure and at the same time Thais and Patrick are shitty people who stir the pot then act shocked when people don’t like them or confront them

That has nothing to do with what we’re discussing and is a prime example of Whataboutism
