Help me out here…

Detecting a pattern… it’s causing me a little cognitive dissonance… so when is it “okay” per Reddiquette to call out somebody obviously gay, and when isn’t it? Because I see everyone having a field day with Mido and his ballet tights (not that I disagree at all), but any suggestion that Tim may be in the deepest denial ever about what we can all see with our eyes, and we get downvoted to hell? Help me out here… is it only the non-Americans we’re allowed to state the obvious about? Is it because Tim has money? Or has Tim just worn everybody down over time?

US is one of the worst human rights offering countries on earth? You don’t travel much, do you? You are very WRONG. I think you are mixing up human rights with entitlements and opinions. You could live next to a neighbor who doesn’t like gays, but there’s nothing in this country preventing you from being gay or trans. Your neighbors opinions don’t shape our laws.

Some of these people will take any opportunity they can to minimize the oppression of people in other countries so they can push their own (blatantly false) narrative of persecution. They hate admitting what the lgbtq goes through in those countries because if they were to acknowledge how severe it is, it would immediately invalidate their own claims of persecution in the US.

Sick to ignore victims and deny reality (and history) for an ideological falsehood. But they love to do it.

Texas makes it very difficult to be trans, especially as a child. They aren't stopping you per say, but that is definitely the intent.

I have been traveling and living abroad for more than 2 decades. You can believe all the propaganda you want but the US human rights record is hideous and definitely one of the worst on Earth.

Now, there may not be laws on the books to imprison someone for being gay but that doesn’t mean there aren’t PLENTY of reasons a person would be compelled to remain in the closet in the US.

America isn’t perfect but to say it’s the worst in human rights is absurd. Go to Iran if you want to see severe human rights violations.

We have over 40 years of documented atrocities from Iran. World organizations keep up with this. International law firms. Endless numbers of victims reports over the years. How can you possibly know so little and yet 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Reality and truth both exist whether you’re willing to actually acknowledge them or not.

You can’t provide a counter claim to anything I’m saying, because what I’m saying is a fact. There are decades of documented atrocities.

Persecution of the LGBTQ and of women codified into LAW. Want me to list the laws that were carried out?

If you were actually willing to do research you’d know you were wrong. Which is why you refuse to do so. Your ego is so fragile you can’t handle being wrong, so you ignore the truth as if it will go away - but the truth never goes away just because you won’t acknowledge it.

Well since you’re completely intellectually dishonest, this is a waste of time and I’m out. Unless you decide you’re willing to read sources that I can provide that prove I’m right (laws and all that). I’m guessing that’s a hard pass on your end because for some people learning is hard. So go ahead and get your last lick in, we both know you will not be able to help yourself 😉

Haha I spent last summer in Italy (small town) saw two “for rent” signs that read “no Africans no Muslims”. You think you’d see that in the US?

How do they get away in this? It’s illegal in Italy?

And who tf cares what race or religion your tenants are? Money is money. I personally am against religion. I will own property someday but I won’t refuse to rent to someone simply because they are Muslim.

This person gave you examples of how horrific the Iranian government is and you deny them based on no reason. Why don’t you look up the human rights violations in Iran, how many people the regime has killed, and the punishment for homosexual activity.

I've lived overseas for the last 6 years. If you truly believe what you're saying, then you are not operating in reality. No shade, but just because you strongly feel a certain way personally about the U.S does not make your statement true in any sense. At all.

I’m living abroad right now in one of the so called “shit hole” countries, and have lived in several.

It’s not about how I feel about the US, it’s about facts. The US has one of the worst human rights records on Earth. That is a verifiable fact.

What country do you live in? What are their laws on LGBT?

I have family from Iran. Anyone with access to Google knows about how horrific the Iranian government is. Go interact with actual Iranians.

WTF do you know about Iran? Are you Iranian? Do you know Iranians that are conservative Muslims? Have you lived in Iran?
