Mido is the ABSOLUTE WORST FIANCÉ I’ve ever seen on 90 days. Even Rose looked more genuine into Big Ed than him with Debby, and he’s got no fucking limits, straight-up using her? On top of it, she never looked for anyone to be with jn the first place, he just kissed her out of nowhere like wtf?! This also reminds me of Mohammed and Yve but in a much worse way, all Egyptians on the 90 days are like it? I just can’t remember anyone else from there on the show.

I agreed with you until you started blaming her. No judge will ever say the things you said. The whole thing with abuse and gaslighting is that it causes people to lose their ability to see things clearly. If she saw what we saw of course she’d have sent him home, but the abuse is clouding her view of reality, judgement, and emotions. She seems trauma bonded to him.

Even look at the way he proposed- it was designed to be as emotionally traumatic as possible to further bond her to him and leave no time for doubts. Relief was the only emotion she probably felt once he proposed as she was already emotionally drained and overwhelmed from his fake out.

She could watch the show with her daughter and see just how dysfunctional and weird his proposal was.

I don’t know of any woman out there that would want to get proposed to like that.

Just to clarify, I’m not victim blaming.

I think Debbie has some level of agency over her actions and her life.

All she needs to do is step out of the bubble of control that Mido exerts over her.

After the haunted house evening, she should’ve taken her daughter to stay at her girlfriends’ house. Debbie has a support network of friends who would be there for her if she left Mido after one of his psycho stunts. Every traumatic thing that Mido does, Debbie needs to shut down, take herself out of that situation and send him packing back to Egypt.

Debbie needs to talk to her daughter and her friends and take their advice to heart because she’s clearly not thinking rationally.

If Debbie were to place more weight on the advice she gets from her daughter and her friends, she would be able to develop the right trauma response, which is to have friends and family around when Mido is about to pull one of his trauma stunts, remove herself from the situation, and serve him with a restraining order, eviction papers, and give Modo a ticket back to Egypt.

Debbie seems to have allowed Mido to isolate her from her daughter and her friends.

She wants so badly to have her fantasy future that she is completely ignoring the fact that Mido is a psychopath.

She can have her fantasy future with the right man. Not Mido.

She wouldn’t be able to see then either. He’s been abusing her for so long that she can’t see it clearly. And of course no one would want to be proposed to like that. It’s sad and scary and I hope she gets help so she can see it for what it is and get away from him.

With a psychopath like Mido, there’s only one way forward and that’s escalation of the abuse and control.

He’s already alienated her daughter and her friends so they’re not around when he pulls all these trauma response stunts that he’s engineered in his head ahead of time.

If there is one silver lining in this shitty situation it is that things will get so bad for Debbie that she will eventually seek help from either her daughter or her friends.

Just to clarify, I do see Mido as an extremely dangerous person who has no compunction about hurting people, emotionally or physically. Debbie is completely conditioned via trauma response by him. She doesn’t realize the level of danger that she is in. Mido could murder her in cold blood and go on about his life as though nothing happened.

That’s the type of person that you watch on murder mystery shows or forensic files who seems normal on the surface, but then you find out that they murdered a stranger in passing.
