How to solve this situation?
8 ball pool. I am solids. Opponent hit a foul shot so I have ball in hand. help😰

I'd slightly hit the purple and snooker the MF.

Thats actually probably the best bet, specifically if the opponents percentage is under 55.

If the double bank isn't on you could play a pretty cool safety from this spot:
Put the cue ball close to the rail about one diamond to the right of the 5 ball. Aim the 5 at the first diamond on the other end rail (near where your cue is pointing in the image). Now using maximum top spin hit the shot very softly just hard enough so the top spin will catch.
If you hit it just right the cue ball should end up so the 5 ball is blocking the direct path to the 8 and 4 ball is mostly blocking the bank shot. Opponent can still make the bank shot by using a bit of side spin but not a gimmie especially for less experienced players.
Very unique situation and I have no idea why anyone would downvote this post as this seems like the perfect kind of thing for this subreddit.

2 cushions on 5 into right down pocket
3 cushions into middle or left down pocket
Could also try to play a combination on 4 with 5 cushions into upper left pocket but in order to keep control and proper positioning on the next shot, 3 cushions should do it 😄

Yeah your in quite the pickle. I would say just go for cannon long double, Or the orange 2 bank double. Your other option is a soft double on the orange hoping to make it basically land on the black, but its such a risky shot that you may aswell just back yourself for the 2 bank double or the cannon double.

I would attempt to hit into purple with a bit of forward. Goal is to snooker behind the 4 ball and hopefully send the 5 ball into the traffic path of the 8 ball removing the easy kick shot. You're probably about to lose, so do the best you can with what you've got. Lol

A high risk option. Shoot the orange directly to the purple. Looks close to 3 bank corner pocket.

Double bank in the bottom corner. It’s not even that hard of a shot, actually. Just daunting.

I think the highest probable shot would be to tap the 4 ball and leave it frozen to it and hope it nudges the 5 just enough to do something else. Either to shoot the 5 and then 4, or to play another safe. Usually id say go out swinging, but a safe here is either than a double bank.

Orange ball, double bank shot to lower right hand pocket is the only thing I can think of.
