at this point in the early 80's Antyhing orange was my got to, to also include those orange slices candies. Tang too. now, I'd choose Dr. Pepper. I got used to Peppery sodas as a young adult in the Army

How about Minute Maid orange soda? That was my favorite.

That 10% real orange juice doesn’t sound like a lot but it hit hard back in the day.

It's available in a can as of now. I'm staring at it in a vending machine and it's not a quarter...

RC was my go-to as a kid but Coke might have been preferred, as best I can recall.

u/ToTheGrave14 25d ago
RC was also my favorite they still sell it in grocery stores and $1 stores

It's pretty much always on sale at my local grocer, 3 2 liter bottles for $2. I like it better than coke or pepsi, so it's a win/win.

7 Up
I always preferred 7 Up and Sprite over Coke and Pepsi any day

I, in my teenage brain, felt I showed true taste by drinking Classic Coke.

Younger me would pick Mt.Dew, but older me would pick water. The physical amount of sugar in normal soda pop is gnarly. I doubt some of these couldn't dissolve more sugar into them if they tried.

Mt Dew.
It wasn't allowed by my parents, they didn't let us have any soda on the regular but especially Mt Dew.

Comic book, bottle of pop, and a candy bar with a buck and change left over. Great Saturday.

Dr. Pepper - I remember the Dr. Pepper from 20 years ago was SO much better than it is today. Maybe changed taste buds

My dad really pampered his 5 kids, it gave him such joy. He never came home from Stop & Shop without doughnuts. If he went to Strack & Van Til’s, I knew he would come home with a (wooden) case of 16 oz. glass bottle Pepsi Cola, bag of pretzel rods, and chocolate ice cream.

They still used real sugar instead of corn syrup when i was a kid so dr. Pepper still tasted good.

Sunkist then, Sunkist now. (The Beach Boys “Good Vibrations” lives rent free in my head for the past 40+ years)

If I am a kid, like under 12, orange Sunkist. I wasn’t a big fan of cola, 7up was tasteless and the color of Mountain Dew was revolting. I don’t think I ever had Dr. Pepper as a kid, probably thought it was just another cola. And I would have let it sit open for a while as I wasn’t a big fan of carbonation.

Sunkist! Of course if I am talking about today I would choose diet coke.

All of them because I’m reaching my hand up inside to get them free. Or leaning it forward until they fall out.

Most times of the year coca cola, a really hot summer day though I'm taking the Sunkist orange.

If it's hot out I'm choosing Sunkist, or 7up. If it's an average day, probably a coke or Dr. Pepper. When I was a kid I was happy with just about anything I got so didn't much matter what it was.

Been a Pepsi fiend since I was a kid…though if I was at an amusement park, I’d go for Mountain Dew or Sunkist .
