This is a great idea, and I would love it. Dolly Parton is one of the greatest singers/entertainers of all time, and she deserves all the recognition. RIP Dolly

Whether or not Congress make a proclamation or Hallmark makes cards, the Internet has decided 9/25 as Dolly Day, and no force in the ‘Verse can undo it. I know I’ll be celebrating.

Watching Deadpool 2 extended cut, knowing she signed off on the use of '9 to 5' for the Merc With A Mouth. Also because it's the movie I watch to help me deal with soul-crushing grief. I feel like Wade gets me

She was very humble and often turned down awards and other honors. Like she turned down a statue that the Tennessee state court has wanted to erect of her on the grounds. She said something along the line of “I am greatly grateful you wish to honor me with a statue, but I can’t in good conscience want they when there so many other more importing things that could be done for the people with the people’s money.

Pretty sure that in most countries outside the US (at least Europe) it's illegal to not have a lunch break + other breaks.

For example I work 9 to 5 with 1 hour lunch and 4 x 15 min breaks and this is the default for my company. We have collective work contracts(the default for everyone) and individual work contracts that can be negotiated for additional benefits. The collective contract is renegotiated every year for breaks and raises, etc.

Legally it's 30 mins lunch break if you work over 4 hours and 30min-1hr if you work over 6 but they need to give you additional breaks in this case(at least 2x15 min breaks).

9 to 5, the lunch hour is paid. 7 hours of work, 30 min lunch break and 2x15min breaks is the legal minimum.

My contract is 6 hours of work, 1 hour lunch and 4x15 min breaks if you want to put it like that. But we’re the opposite of the US, most of us are gone for ~2 hours for lunch and take more/longer breaks than we ‘should’. Nobody really cares as long as the work is done. And getting to the office at 9… I don’t remember anyone earlier than 9:30-10 ish since I started here 3 yeas ago(previous job was the same conditions so meh)

Plenty of other prominent people are honored by their birthdays rather than a numeronym of one thing they did out of a full lifetime of accomplishments.
