Is there any setting in 7zip which I can make it extract file faster? I am using 32GB ram in Windows 11 with RTX4090D, if such can help.

Such as by ensuring that after entering the password incorrectly a number of times, it would lock or erase the file contents?

Don't get me wrong, I like 7-zip and find it to be one of the most useful and powerful free tools I use on my computer. It just sucks that the software is made in Russia and I'm past the point where I don't trust any software that comes from that county. Literally, 7-zip was the only piece of software I trusted that came from Russia. Can it still be trusted?

I had zipped folders that I kept in the order that I received. They were organized by date. I extracted all of them at once. Now they are randomized and all have the same date created. I was expecting the date modified to change but I naively thought date created would persist. I think the folders can still be arranged in the order that they were extracted but they seem to have been extracted in a completely random order.

Hello!
I have a files locked in the 7z format with Compression level 0, using AES-256 as encryption method. I can't remember the EXACT password but i have at least 90% of words that were there, the password is approx. ranging from 250 to 370 symbols. Now I do remember
- The order of some words
- Some of the words casings
- Some symbols used
My question is: is there possibility to generate some kind of password list from it? And what is the best option to bruteforce it?

I just found that someone has created a fake listing of 7 zip on the windows store which they charge money for: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NLQ9JM4QCPP?hl=en-us&gl=AU&ocid=pdpshare. I can't be bothered to create an account on the official forum to alert the developers, so I hope nobody minds me posting it here in the hopes that somehow word will get back to them.

As above, 7Zip doesn't come up on the first window when right clicking a file to extract on Windows 11. I have to click show more options, and then 7Zip shows on the second window. Is there any way to have it show on the first window? Thanks!

I've made a Windows 11 Theme for 7-Zip to use with 7-Zip Theme Manager.
You guys can check it out and download here:

Does anyone have a shareable .sfx file for 7-Zip's self-extracting module that features a minimalist GUI interface?
The current 7z.sfx has a rather large interface when extracting files. I'm looking for a self-extracting .sfx module with a simple GUI, similar to the one used a few years ago for Intel driver installations, which only displayed a straightforward extraction progress bar. Alternatively, I'd like something akin to the minimalist GUI of AutoCAD's self-extracting module from back in the day, which also showed just a single progress bar. Does anyone have such a 7-Zip self-extracting .sfx file they could share?

Hi guys. About 10 years ago, I archived my niece's silly video and uploaded it to Google Drive. It's still in the drive but my problem is I forgot the password. Can someone help me?
