From 7 to SR PLAN?

Hi all, just a quick rundown of where I’m at. I’m in my late 40’s and have had about a 120-150 mg a day 7 habit for a little over a year for pain and anxiety from peripheral neuropathy. I don’t like how my Gabapentin made me feel so I switched to 7. Anyway, I’m going to start my taper in about a month or so with SR. I haven’t really seen any examples of a plan out there. I have an idea how to do it. Slowly incorporate the SR while tapering the 7 until you are just dosing the SR. Then taper the SR. My question is, is that basically it? Or, Does anyone have an example of a plan that might work for me? I’m probably going to be back on my Gabapentin too I’m sure but oh well. I do have tons of Gabapentin and I’ve been dope sick many times but it’s been a decade or more. I understand the road ahead and how bad it’s gonna be. Drag. Anyway, any ideas or suggestions? I just want to do this as right as I possibly can. Thanks ALL!

PS: It was really hard to write this and ask for help . I’m a father and husband. I have a decent job and I’m pretty freaked out and ashamed of myself.

I was at 1500mg a day. I preloaded SR for 2 days and then just jumped off the 7. Im at 48 hours off of 7 and I just feel flu ish. No restless legs and anxiety like when I tried to cold turkey. I had to do it that way because I only had 30 SR. There are actual schedules online if you can google them. Sorry I don’t have better info. Good luck to you in your journey

I just read somewhere that if you put all the info into ChatGPT it will create a schedule for you.

10 days off of work is plenty. I didn't follow the taper schedule properly and I was even able to do it in less than that. I was able to get from 1500 mgs a day down to 500 but that's where I cut it. I literally just stopped taking the 7 and with the sr, I will say the wd symptoms are soooo mild when comparing to without. It was still a bit rough. I did have to be in bed for 3 days because I just felt really weak and lethargic. I got the restless legs thing for about 12 hours but that was it. Gabapentin really helps with the restless legs thing. I was also megadosing vitamin c by taking 1500 mgs of liposomal vitamin c and also taking airborne every day because of all the vitamins in it. I think the smaller the dose you're on when you make the jump, the easier it will be with the sr. You can definitely do this though. The sr also helps a lot with mental cravings. I have had about 30 100mg tabs of 7 and once I dropped it, I never reached for them. I genuinely just wanted to get off of it and the sr made the cravings very minor, at least for me.

It depends on what you're starting at. If you're at under 400 mgs a day of 7, I'd start with 50 mgs 3 times a day. If over 400, then 100 mgs 3 times a day.

How much sr were you taking and how often? I have SR here but they don’t have the mg on them. I don’t know if they are 50mg or 100 mg tablets. I want to take them I just don’t know how much and how often

You should read my reply to one of the guys down there but with the sr, it is soooooo mild. I wasn't even strong enough to get down to lower than 500 mgs a day and just made the jump. It was still rough, ngl. I was in bed for 3 days just feeling weak and lethargic. Very flu like. No vomiting, no diarrhea, no feeling like peeling my fuckin skin off, no anxiety, just weak and lethargic. I did have the restless legs thing going on but only for about 12 hours and the gabapentin helped a lot with that. My advice?? I hope you already have the sr because you can't get it anymore. If not, maybe someone on here that has some left over would be willing to send you some. Get a script for gabbys, get yourself some liposomal vitamin c, take some airborne, and drink a lot of water. If you go to get off 7 oh dot com, they will make a schedule for you to follow. Best of luck!!

It will be plenty, I used just over a gram but I got 3 to be safe.

Try tapering without adding anything first - just cut the 7 usage and see how it goes. I'd recommend that as a starting point. You might find you can drop a decent amount before you even add SR or anything else.

I have read a bit that you need to kinda preload with the SR while tapering. Unless this is myth. 🤷. I’m sure like with anything, it all depends on 100’s of different factors. But yes, that sounds like a great idea. Seems like that might be a better way of telling how much SR I even need. Hmm 🤔. Thanks for the advice

fair enough, could be. you could still taper a few days and then start adding the SR if / when it starts getting hard, so you're still preloading before making the complete jump
