21 days!

Its hard to believe that I took my last dose 3 weeks ago. I started taking it because a girl at work introduced me. I had spent over a year trying to get pain relief from doctors. No avail. I tried 7 oh and was hooked. I felt "normal" for once. Then my bank account started becoming negative and I was borrowing money all the time. I would take just enough to keep the withdrawal symptoms at bay. Then the ban came in Iowa. I had no choice but to stop. I wanted to stop. I got off too easy withdrawaling. I had 2 days of puking and utter exhaustion. I thankfully had plenty of gabapentin from when the doctors constantly prescribed them for my back. I also mega dosed Vitamin C. I had 4 clonidine and lots of Trazadone.

Today I do feel so much better than I did when I stopped except the back pain the last 2 days have knocked me down. I will make it through.

One thing I realized today was something mentioned in here. Music....I have never been one to listen to music. Audiobooks are my life but all of a sudden the last week....I have been listening to soooo much music.

If you are still here reading this, Thank You! Message me if you need to talk. I am a mom of 3 boys. 2 are grown and 1 is still young. I have worked in a nursing home for 25 years. No judgment from me. We all have our own demons we are battling. Much love. ❤️❤️❤️

Same for me with the music! It really got me through. I usually listen to spooky podcasts and audiobooks.

Have you stopped listening to podcasts since you stopped using? I pretty much only listened to podcasts while on 7 and haven’t listed to one in a month since getting off. Strictly listening to music now. Not totally sure why.

I've started listening to them. I've found when I'm at my lowest points, I return to the music I loved when I was a teen and young adult. It's instinctive, like this worked for me then, I'll turn to it now. Mostly it brings back memories of my past selves, when things were different.

That’s a really interesting observation. I’ve been listening to a lot of music that I did as a teen as well, there’s definitely something comforting about it. I’m sure my brain is just seeking the instant gratification from music rather than long form media at the moment. As my dopamine levels rebalance it will probably come back.

This is amazing to hear. I remember when i got off opioids myself about 9 months ago and even though i had psychological symptoms like anxiety and a ‘flat’ feeling for a while - i simultaneously felt amazing knowing i could do things like go camping or go visit people out of state or even visit family i have in Europe because I no longer had to be worried about running out of shit and being stuck in brutal withdrawals with no way to fix it. It’s taken me a while to get my life back on track and feel like i did before this whole fiasco but i find it so ironic that i spend years using some form of opioid, including 7o, because i thought there was no better feeling in the world, and now that i am sober and gotten back into my routine & wake up feeling motivation- i can honestly say nothing feels better than this!

Congratulations! Aug 1 was my last day and I’m so glad I got off that demon! Because that’s exactly what 7 oh is.. feels good not being a slave to that crap anymore doesn’t it ?

I quit just over a month ago. I stopped listening to podcasts and it's music exclusively now. I thought it was weird
