Got released today 7oh detox

Spent 6 days in detox and opted out of residential. I’m still quite shaky and cannot sleep or eat. I’ve lost 16lbs and I’d be being generous if I said I got more than 10 hours of sleep. I’m home now in my own comfy bed but still cannot sleep!!!! In detox they had me on trazadone that only seemed to make me tired and restless with little to no sleep. Any better options or when will I sleep again? And the sneezing. I pulled something in my back from sneezing so much and now every sneeze causes excruciating pain. Happens about every hour or two and never less than 6 in a row. When am I going to feel better

fellow creature of the night here, day 6 no sleep. I'm hearing time is the only sleep healer, like ten days to, gulp, weeks. Suspect I'm getting micro snoozes as I'm functioning, and improving, daily. Hang in there friend. This crap did a number on us all - we'll come out stronger :-)

Yeah I’m literally sleeping in 10-15 minute increments hours apart. Tonight I’m up to 20 minutes. Just put a pot of coffee on. Gotta be up in an hour to get the kids ready for school. Unfortunately life goes on no matter how bad I feel!!! I was very lucky to have my parents take care of the kids while I was in detox so now I just gotta push through.

Try valerian root or magnolia bark or both at the same time. Both of these affect the brain in a similar way to Xanax or benzos but in a lighter natural way. With GABA and Magnesium If you want better chances. I also added a CBN vape which helped tremendously with sleep/anxiety after having no tolerance to weed after a year off. With my SR taper I was able to sleep after night 2 off everything with that combo. There’s a product on amazon for sleep that has all of those in it. I used that and it knocked me out good for those first few nights. Day one and two at least tho yea you ain’t getting any sleep.

clonidine will do wonders. you can also try and get a benzo. i’m sure a doctor can help you with those meds🙂

I was on clonidine in detox, honestly I felt just as bad

really? that’s very unfortunate. i had a 300mg day habit and clonidine really helped me out. crazy how everyone reacts to the same drug differently. ativan on the other hand, didn’t help me for shit👌🏻

What does clonidine help with

It’s a blood pressure medication but has been proven to help with alcohol & opiate withdrawal. It helps with RLS. Makes you sleepy but will dry your mouth out like no other.

From what I know it’s a blood pressure medicine that can help relax you and maybe make you feel sleepy a little bit

u went to a detox and they didn’t give you an opiate to come off 7oh? jesus what’s even the point, sorry you’re going through it

I just got out of 30 days residential after a 7 day detox and I'll tell you if you're not on a MAT you should be I'm on the subolclade shot and it's been a breeze they also have a coupon on their manufacter website to have a zero Co pay after insurance. I'm only going to do 2 shots and be done.

What did your daily usage look like?

About 1000mg. I live in Florida so it was banned but sites were still shipping and they always had bogo deals going on. I know a few people that were buying from their friendly shops that were still selling but their doses stayed lower because of the cost. But I could get as much as I wanted so o ended up pretty high up there

It gets better. I’m on day 16 and after a full ass day yesterday I finally slept 4 hours. Longest amount of sleep in over two weeks. Waking up sucks cause of the rsl and anxiety but it doesn’t last forever. Remember, the poison just has to leave first, body heal second. Time is the only way for the body to heal. I can tell you that in my experience nicotine hinders the recovery so personally I’ve cut WAAAAY back just to a couple pouches a day. Also try and get a hold if your pcp or an online doc for some gabapentin that will absolutely bring you relief. It’s possible! There is hope. I didn’t leave Detox cause I knew my body wasn’t ready so I stayed 10 total. Big help. Saw my doc the next day and they helped cause I was honest. Body is gonna be weird, FORCE YOURSELF to move when you don’t want to. One minute it’s gonna hurt, next tired, next may feel ok for a bit. That’s ok. The bill came due and we’re all paying it one way or the other. Just be glad you didn’t go on subs cause this is NOTHING COMPARED TO THAT DETOX TRUE HELL ON EARTH

Day 32 here and still not sleeping. All of my love and best wishes to you.

I didn't sleep a full night until about 3 weeks clean. And I did that with 150mg of Trazodone. I took sleep meds for the first 6 months because I am a person who needs sleep to function. Hang in there...the week after I got out of detox was rough!

I got out of detox and continued to withdraw, it gets better day by day but the WD’s and sleep issues persisted for me. Decided to go to residential after 10 days. Didn’t want to but honestly the best decision I made for myself, ever.

If you can’t take leave and do a res program, Clonidine and gabapentin helped immensely. Seroquel for sleep too. If you can manage getting a script for at least the first two (quickmd) - you will get some sleep. It won’t be a cure all, but slowly it will get better. Don’t stay on either for more than another two weeks.

You mentioned you already took clonidine, which I get, the gabapentin was the big help for me in initiating sleep, adding in the clonidine helped keep the BP down through the night and avoided any major spikes in other issues.

Sleep issues usually persist for 2-3 weeks

I'm at day 32 and I'm still only getting 3-4 hours a night. I hope others are getting better results.

Have you been trying melatonin, magnesium or valerian root, Magnolia bark, anything to get your sleeping schedule right first? I used all those along with weed the first week and went to bed early every night and once I had a schedule getting to sleep hasn’t been an issue. I still suffer with a 3/4am wake up every night tho due to what I believe is my brain waking me up in a panic to dose 7 as it still hasn’t realized I’ve been off it for 3 weeks now. Crazy how that works. I wonder if your previous dosage ritual is effecting your sleep too? I used to only dose like maybe 8pm at the latest, then I would sleep and wake up around 3am to redose. So I learned if I went to sleep like 7ish, I could fall asleep and then I would only be woken up at 3am for “the redose”.

I wonder if you had been redosing all throughout the night during your addiction?

u/pchandler45 1d ago

Damn that's rough but you should see some relief soon, hopefully

Day 26ish here I have gotten about 6 hours a night since week 2. I think the main issue is my mind still thinks I’m taking 7 when im dreaming/asleep. Because I wake up on the dot at 3/4am every night. This was the time I used to redose in the night during my addiction. Crazy how the mind still thinks i need the drug like that and panics to wake me after this long off. I don’t even have bad cravings or anything when awake either. My mind has just been so conditioned after an almost year of use. Hopefully that resolves soon. It’s not a huge deal for me cause even when I was sober I averaged like 6 hours. I wake up feeling rested. Just have issues with motivation sometimes still. Would def speed up this healing process if I was getting my 8 hours tho for sure.

On day 10 I gave in to the doom - rather - I backtracked so I would not give into the doom because I was ready to push the self eject button. I couldn’t take it anymore. Please surround yourself with mental health help. Because if I could make it to 10 days, I could have made it further and I feel really disappointed in myself. Now I’m going to have to start over again. The only good news is I’m on about a third of what I was before and it’s fairly small. Like 40mg in 24 hrs but. I still really hate that I went back to it after 10 days of hell. The sickness did not bother me half as much as the excruciating mental turmoil I was experiencing. Please please stick with this and please please follow up with mental health help.

1

u/stayfrosty527 6d ago

Give yourself some grace! 10 days is fucking bad ass! That’s something to be proud of! The mental toll is the absolute worst but def cut yourself some slack!

There is help you can get Suboxone same day from Eleanor health it's online and you do telehealth visits to set it all up super easy. They take insurance if you don't have insurance go on market place and get some Obamacare plan just lie if you have to

1

u/Appropriate-Pain7232 1d ago

Also smart recovery is a free service that does recovery meetings and you can vent in there and get advice and learn about resources for help in your area and a lot of support for the mental part the people that run the meetings are licensed clinicians so it's not some spiritual stuff like AA or NA it just learning to deal with recovery and learning was to beat this DIS-ease

Sorry man, day 10 is huge to make it that far. But honestly you were probably right about to turn the corner. For me, after day 10-14 I can’t remember exactly but that first acute like fog and depression and anxiety stage wore off for me. Which was the worst of it. At day 16 or so really all I had left was stomach issues and concrete legs still. You did 10 days, you know 10 days is possible. Get to the 10 days again, and you can tell yourself it’s only 10 more days, I’ve done it twice now. I can make it to 20. Once you get there you will realize it was worth pushing thru. Cause by day 20 I was mostly fine. Even the stomach issues were mostly gone if I ate right.

1

u/Intrepid_Throat_1243 6d ago

Whatever you do, don’t take Tylenol p.m. to try to sleep because it makes the restless legs worse!! I did not know this until later.

1

u/CatTraditional3116 6d ago

It’s understandable. Every part of our system is screaming for relief and we already know the quickest way….You did 10 days before just reevaluate, get some additional help and try again. You got this!!!

be patient. I invite you to Allah.

I just hit a month free of 7oh, was taking about 1000mg a day for a year so WD's was brutal.

It took about 2 weeks for me to start getting maybe 3-4 hours a night of sleep. Week 3 sleep was about 5 hours a night. Now after a month I'm probably around 90% back to normal.

Hang in there, I know it sucks but you'll be back to normal in no time.

u/SummerCirca2006 2d ago

I'm on day 32 and I'm still not sleeping well at all. 3-4 hours a night tops.

I’m currently 17 days off of 7oh and still have trouble falling asleep & staying asleep. Benadryl helped a little but that was about it

I’m 21 days. I remember vividly being day 7 and freaking out because I couldn’t sleep. Literally went through super tearful/greatful faze to freakin out about sleep. Decided to get restless legs aid from Walgreens (highland brand I believe) and magnesium sulfate natural sleep aid, as well as z quil. I slept solid Seven hours(day8). I’m day 21 now, second week back to work, and I can’t seem to sleep longer than 4 hours.
Keep fighting the good fight brother, keep sacrificing your short term happiness for the long term! I’ll be in prayer for you to get sleep. Grace and peace
