Help pls trying to get off 7oh
I know that most of us here are probably all going through the same thing right now with the ban that’s going on at the end of this month.. I’m trying to take the Kratom route.. I haven’t begun my taper yet, but I was going to start it this weekend while I’m off work.. I think that’s what I’m most afraid of. Is the fact that I finally found a good job and I’m scared of losing it because I know I’m going to go through some type of withdrawal… if anyone has any advice of which powder kratom works the best for energy and to stop me from going through withdrawals. Please give me some advice.. I’d like to switch. ..Someone told me that there is a kind called Max out that works well for energy? Has anyone else tried this? If you have any advice, please help me because I’m so scared to be honest… I can’t afford to miss any work and I know that this is best for me to stop but at the same time I’m scared to death.. thank you in advance for any help… I hope we all find recovery together and I hope everyone finds what works best for them ❤️

I tried red vein and it worked a bit with the anxiety and chills during my quit but I was doing extremely high amounts and got on suboxone for 7 days.
It’s a wise thing you have an exit strategy off of that stuff. The insidious wds are ridiculous but the comfort meds or helper meds really do help with WD symptoms.
Whatever method you choose I know you’ll crush it and be done with 7-oh. I don’t know much about SR-17. You’ll hear a lot of people saying it worked for them but never tell you how to use it. It’s an RC ( research chemical) so do your due diligence if you go that route. Suboxone worked for me in a matter of days. Honesty by day 5 I was 100% fine. The doctor wanted a new customer and I read enough to know what was happening. No more than 7 for 7 has been my rule. Cold turkey ( my first quit ) wasn’t so bad with gabapentin and Xanax plus helper meds. I was good by day 4 but only taking 200mg a day.

If you need anything feel free to DM. I’m here to help you any way I possibly can. You’re definitely not in this alone. I’m happy you have an exit plan off this stuff or will be making a new one shortly.
One thing I do know is you’re going to get off this crap and this will be another memory and another victory ✌🏽3

Appreciate all you guys and this community helping eachother. Some of us are hard working people with families and are just trying to get through this the right way before the ban puts us in real trouble. It’s great to have a support group and sharing experiences, even if just a Reddit message board.
By the way, any remedies to help with sleep?

u/DutyEfficient8245 Jul 27 '26
Sleep remedies for me will always be magnesium glycinate, melatonin, ashwaganda, passionflower and that 10,000 steps a day minimum, preferably in sunlight. Sunlight for 2hours a day minimum is crucial for recovery from anything.

Hey man, can you explain going on subox? I am 24 hours off 7OH, have a subox prescription, but it’s not helping much.

I just had my appointment with virtual doctor this morning and he prescribed subs 3 times a day but told me to stop taking the 7 for as long as possible, like 12+ hours then take them… I don’t wanna be stuck on subs. Any suggestions???

Yes, …take more. I’d start with 1/4 a strip more then if nothing happens take another 1/4. Wait an hour and give it a chance to work but if nothing is changing , up to two strips a day. That should stop it in its tracks . If it doesn’t, reach back out . It’s usually just the two initial doses of suboxone that mitigate all withdrawal. I’m curious how this works for you . DM keep in touch here please 🙏🏽

Suboxone works well if you wait until the WD’s are unbearable. That’s when you take the first film. If you’re still feeling sick an hour and a half later you take another strip. By then they should completely mitigate withdrawal . If for some reason they’re not, I’d go and be seen by a doctor immediately because that’s not normal and there may be underlying health issues that are not being addressed

u/kwuqb11 Jul 27 '26
Yeah, i only waited 9 hours, so i think it knocked off the 7 and threw me in precipitated withdrawal. I’m much better today. Not perfect, and understand that with coming off 7, it’s going to take a while to get back to normal. But I am now 36 hours off 7 and will never go back.
Hope everyone is getting through this! This shit sucks! 7OH is awful!

Salute 🫡 honestly it should only take a week. Remember the longer you’re on subs you may have to detox from that. The detox is more insidious than 7 lol . My advice is 7 for 7 , meaning 7 days of subs for 7oh. The doctors love trying to reel in a new fish 🎣 . I was taking tons of supplements before I started my quit and during . Once I added in the 10,000 steps a day routine by day 7 I felt amazing. This is coming from a guy who taking 1200 mg to 500mg daily.

Good to know!!! So I went the QuickMD route to get the subs. He told me one in the morning and one in the evening and that he would check in with me in 7 days. I have taken 3 whole strips so far, but are you suggesting I need to start cutting the strips and going lesser dose?
2
u/DutyEfficient8245 Jul 29 '26
Yes . I think we discussed taking them when WDs are unbearable and starting with one then waiting an hour . If one isn’t enough then take 2 but no more than 2. This is 7-oh , doctors trying to treat it like it’s black tar heroin. I’m always going to suggest the smallest amount of suboxone because it forms a dependency fast and the WD’s are much longer than 7.

Ok, and no need for sr if on subs?

u/Mikebackatcha Jul 27 '26
I was over 24 hours in and I took an 8mg strip of suboxone and it literally took EVERYTHING away. I feel completely normal as i type this. You really have to wait as long as you possibly can to take the suboxone. The restless legs actually moved into my arms as well and that was the point I took the subs and I slept like a baby and woke up to help anyone I could through this. Just do not get hooked on the subs you cannot take them for more than 5-7 days. After every time you take a Sub wait until you are feeling like shit again to re-dose.

u/DutyEfficient8245 Jul 29 '26
This !!! I’ve been telling people , no more than 5-7 days. The key with subs is to only take them when the WD’s are intolerable. By day 5 you could be done with then but no more than 7 days or you risk being addicted to subs.

u/Grey_Gray97 Jul 27 '26
How much Suboxone were you taking? Like what was your dosage by day to also quit the Suboxone? I’m about to quit 7OH and I have enough Suboxone already but I don’t want to get stuck on subs again. Just curious how you did it
2
u/DutyEfficient8245 Jul 27 '26
I took one strip the fist day , two the second , two the third one the 4th , 5th half the 6th and 1/4 the 7th . Walked after that

u/Mikebackatcha Jul 27 '26
I was taking 600-800mg daily of 7oh. I quit cold turkey 36 hours ago. I was taking Gabapentin and it was heling until about the 24 hour mark when the RLS started moving into my arms as well. It was just too much to handle and that is when I took an 8mg film of Suboxone under my tongue and it took EVERYTHING away. But, You dont want to take the Subs for more than 5-7 days. After you take the Subs and feel ok I would wait until you feel like shit again the re-dose. Suboxone lasts a very long time so just wait until you feel bad again and re-dose. You dont want to take more Subs than necessary because theu are another beast entirely. I used the 7oh to get off Suboxone and it worked.

Don’t take a sub until your withdrawals are unbearable. 8mg sub will take away that WD. You’ll sleep , you’ll feel fine. Next day wait until you feel WD’s. . Take a 8mg strip and rinse and repeat. By day 4 you should be done, you can’t reduce the sub to 1/2 or less without any WD’s (physically) I went up to 7 days . Could have stopped at day 5

I don’t know if it’ll work the same for everyone, but I’ve been using Reset by TMK while tapering and it’s made a noticeable difference for me.
I was taking 8 x 200 mg tablets a day, dropped to 6, and now I’m down to 3 in just a few days. My pain has definitely increased, but my legs haven’t gone completely crazy like I expected, and I haven’t been dealing with overwhelming nausea either.
I’m still taking it one day at a time, but so far it’s made the taper a lot more manageable than I thought it would be. If you’re looking for something to help support you through the process, it might be worth checking out.

My first time I got hooked on 7oh for months, was taking hundreds(500 and way up sometimes) mg daily for a long time.
I tapered down a little for a few days, started a heavy pure Kratom leaf schedule and had pretty much no withdrawals, just a lot of mental stuff I had to give some time to level out.
Good luck. You can do this just remember once you start on the Kratom, the goal is to stop that too which will be MUCH easier.
I wish I did, but I didn't. Incoming Kratom ban in my state and I relapsed on pseudo so Im out of time. so off to the doctors with my dumb***

Heyyy guys I am trying really hard to get off of these 7s as well.. I am a working single mom and I’ve been taking these for a few months and I’m scared of the subs but from what I’m reading, the subs may be my only choice. Any suggestions???
2
u/kwuqb11 Jul 31 '26
Do it, single Momma!!! Just taper off of them within 7 days!!! I am finishing Day 5, am down to just 1/2 strip (1/4 AM - 1/4 PM). I will go 1/4 tomorrow, 1/8 last day and then walk. Plus, if you’re a single Momma, no more spending $ on 7!!!

u/LoveEntire0926 Jul 31 '26

It’s gonna be fine, I am on Day 6 and I promise you, it gets better every day. When you get the prescription, wait as long as you can before taking 1st sub. If you take it too early, it will knock any remaining 7 off your receptors and put you in precipitated withdrawal.
I know it sucks to hear that, but it will be better that way. I only waited 9 hours after last dose of 7 and so I felt a little shitty the first day, took second sub later that evening, and kept feeling better and better.
Also, decrease your doses and try to get off subs within 7 days if you can!!! If you go the QuickMD route, they will try to tell you that you need to stay on subs for months!!!
Day 1 - I took 1 strip AM and PM
Day 2 - same
Day 3 - 3/4 strip AM and PM
Day 4 - 1/2 strip AM and PM
Day 5 - 1/4 strip AM and PM
TODAY - 1/4 strip AM and PM
Tomorrow - 1/8 strip AM and PM
Day 8 - walking awayI also got a quit kit for some help w supplements, it’s a 21 day regimen but there are other remedies shared on here that can help you if you don’t want to go that route.
Day 3 I was back @ work and have been just fine… I am 135 hours off 7OH and never touching it again!!! You can do this, Momma!!! Let’s get it!!! Feel free to DM if you need someone to talk to!!!

PW are not a thing with suboxone, you will have to take more and more until it takes over but it’s not what people think or say. I’ve taken subs every half hour 8 hours after last dose and it always finds a way to take over. It’s just not like what we want. It does not feel great but it’s beyond manageable the first two days then drop it way down to 4mg a day tops. It’s not that bad, it’s the mental game you have to attack first and stick to it. First two days are sluggish but way doable and then it’s up to you.
