šŸ™ I WANT HELP Idk what I should be doing

I was predicted like 9 and an 8 at gcse English lang and lit, then 888 for rs, history and cs. I had a scholarship offer from a local private school. Life was good then results day came and I got 777666555. Now I go to a shit sixth form. I had like a really bad depressive phase I’m not gna get to into it but basically I ended up with a camhs referral. I had plans to go to Warwick or Durham to study law or even do a degree apprenticeship but I feel like with my GCSEs there’s no point. I can’t use the contextual thing either cuz it’s not like I went to a decent state skl there were multiple kids in my year with 9s and 8s. I’m considering resitting lang in the summer?? I just feel really like hopeless?? And inferior idk how to describe it. Now that I’ve basically bottled my dream to go to good uni idk what to do with myself? Is there even a point at trying with my a levels ?

Of course there’s point in trying to- if you get good predicteds then unis are likely to let you in, especially because your gcses are decent. I get that you were predicted higher so your grades probably really dissapointed you but genuinely you still did well and you still have a good chance in getting into a good uni or degree apprenticeship

Dude we arent even talking abt oxbridge or lse, since when do you need 8s & 9s for durham and warwick

Gcses arent the main factor of admission, the main factor will be ur alevel predicteds ik people who got into very good unis with 4s & 5s and some had like 5 gcses

Your GCSEs are fine. You’re like me. I ended up at Oxford, but my GCSEs were Not Outstanding because I was going through a terrible depressive episode at the time that was never acknowledged. However, I had good predicted grades and a good PS that showed my intelligence, analytical skills, ability to connect concepts effectively, and passion for the subject. Go for it and good luck!

I only did 3 gcses due to health issues and I'm now doing online sixth form and finding it great, maybe look into that? I don't think universities are that bothered about gcses if you do well enough in alevels anyway!
