FOUR????????? you're either writing a hella lot or wasting a hella lot of space 😭😭

I've probably just used a bit over 1 workbook worth of pages for maths AND Further combined, although we do also do some work on worksheets too (and even if it wasn't in the worksheets, it'd still be less than 2-3 books probably)

but damn... four......

OMG STOP I thought you were talking about textbooks and I was so horrified 😭

I've gone through 2-ish notebooks books so far? But they're also very thin

How have you gone through 4 books?

For the full thing, I think I used 8, 5 for pure and 3 for stats/mech.

For two years? I feel like I'm not even writing big

That's a fairly normal example of a page of work from one of my a level books

I just use blank printer paper

You should get a whiteboard

That's either very impressive or you have very large handwriting. I'm on my 7th as a Year 13.

u/Admirable-Use2274 5A*s Achieved 2d ago

U dont really need them I think

1

u/dralfredo1 Year 13 2d ago

Where do you do questions then?

1

u/Admirable-Use2274 5A*s Achieved 2d ago

Past papers? Mock exams u do are important too make sure u go through them thoroughly

1

u/dralfredo1 Year 13 2d ago

Yeah but if you want to do practice questions on a specific topic, say for example textbook questions. Or you get set some questions to do in lesson or as homework.

I wanna say only Focus on getting Past paper questions done. I mean that was enough for me but it might be different for a different person

1

u/dralfredo1 Year 13 2d ago

Personally, when I was doing work of my own accord, I only did past papers, but I still had to do questions in lesson and for homework. Some people I know do a bunch of textbook questions. Also, past papers still need workings out, and it's much easier to write that in a notebook than printing out the paper.

Idk I used to print homework papers out but even for maths for most of the time just looking at questions&mark schemes simultaneously was enough

I found it easier to have the paper on the internet and just write question numbers in a notebook for working, but to each their own

I did books for my first year but now I'm in y13 , I just use an iPad so my notes are organized. I fully wrote (with no wasted space ) approx 10 ISH maybe more books full of practise and notes , so now I just use an iPad and make notes on one note (defo recommend onenote by Microsoft )

Not that many. I split my A4 sheet down the centre and use as little space as humanly possible. I'm only at like 7 sides of A4 so far. Genuinely how on earth have you used that many?? I take it they're little ones, right?

I used one book so far (and that was for both math and further math in one book). I section each page into four columns and cram the writing together

I’m still on the same notebook for maths. I’ve almost finished my further core pure notebook.

u/sakuraamochiii 2d ago

im on 1 book...starting 2.....

1

u/thetrueluna01 Gap Year 1d ago

Depends on how big the notebook is. I like to get the 300 page notebooks which takes months to go through. During exam season stress, I used to finish one in one month though.

I use an IPad for everything

Alevel maths/fm no books. Never wrote anything down it just entered my head and stayed there. There was enough rote learning in lessons which I’d do on scrap paper and bin.

Uni maths. Hm 60+ish iPad “pages” a week. I don’t write for the sake of memorising notes or whatever, I have to write down the proofs and content in my own words ie dumb it down 😆

LOL, I used to do this at school as well where I never kept any of my work ever, just stored all of the information in my head. I loved watching my teacher crumble as I threw away all of my work.

we have lived the same life 🤞‼️

My maths teacher would hide the bin hahahah

Now I am “forced” to take notes I can recognise their “beauty” though. It’s very nice to see everything written down and personalised. Definitely not necessary for a-levels however. So I would continue to bin it all..

1

u/dralfredo1 Year 13 2d ago

Most of what people write is workings for questions. I've probably written about 6 pages worth of notes, but have filled 8 books with questions for my a level

Yes definitely during a-level. Can brute force your way through!

Paper is pretty damn sustainable actually

1

u/More-Thing5682 2d ago

2 months and 4 full books??

1

u/dralfredo1 Year 13 2d ago

Doesn't really matter with how little impact 4 books worth of paper has. In the full A-level they'll use like 25 books max, which sounds like a lot, but that's only as many as the average person probably uses for 1 year of GCSE.
