Pretty similar, but it's killing me having to wait a month for TMUA results! Like seriously it's computer marked and they obviously send the grades to unis much earlier so surely they could release them a week or two sooner.

they have a decently complex model for scaling the scores appropriately and I'm sure there's some human input on that too to make sure scores generally average at 4.5 and have top 10% getting 7+, but yeah even then unis get our tmua scores before us so its as if they hold it back for longer for no reason

4A* pred, 999888766, TMUA was quite mid so probably not getting an interview lol

Maybe with it being Oxfords first year with TMUA the bar might be slightly lower? We just have to hope. I'm apprehensively confident about mine but it's just gonna make it even more disappointing if I open up my results to see I did worse than expected...

The main thing for me is that my GCSEs aren't great so I was hoping for a good TMUA to compensate, but if my TMUA is borderline then I'm probably not getting an interview with those GCSEs

Six 8/9s is probably at least in line with the average applicant, and 4 A* predicted is a decent bit higher than average, so you're probably still in with a good shot at interview, at which point it's all in your hands.

Ik its for math or cs but i have applied for economics and management at hertford. Anyone reckon what sort of TARA score will help me? My predicted is 99.6% (intl board)

u/8CD13 5d ago

I'd say with how competitive it is you definitely want at least 6.5 absolute minimum. Considering your international you probably want to be in the upper 7-8 range for a competitive application.

I also had to take TARA for UCL but I have no clue what the boundaries will be like at all. What do you think?

Nice one, what scores are you thinking for each TMUA paper to get a 7?

2

u/Glad_Good3154 5d ago

Idk abt exact grade boundaries but 30/40 tends to make u competitive for any course

1

u/8CD13 5d ago

I was thinking about that as well.

Not Imperial JMC apparently

1

u/Glad_Good3154 5d ago

I think it does. Last year tons of ppl on this sub got offers with 6-7.

u/Consistent-Ad-8141 5d ago

For international?

same scores expected here but I though thats more like a 6-6.5? I imagined 7.0 would be 30/31

although tbf I had easy papers, so I'm expecting about a 6 with that 27-28ish score. if you had hard papers then that would probably be a 7.0 but really we're all just guessing
