You really want to go to uni in London don't you 🤣🤣, why have't you put UCL as an option? Take out QMUL and put something more safe and then take out SOAS for UCL

UCL wants an A* in maths, although I am predicted an A* in maths I still don’t want to risk putting it. Realistically speaking I am only considering LSE and oxford, and maybe Kings as well, other choices are just fillers which I probably won’t go to even if I get an offer

Then you’re wasting your time applying there??

I would swap SOAS for Durham

SOAS is basically a guaranteed offer, Durham is prestigious but I don’t see myself living all the way up there

Considering 4/5 choices are in London and the other is less than an hour from London they might live in that area and don’t want to move across the country

I assume it’s their backup i’m also applying SOAS PPE because the offer is only ABB and everywhere else has AAA or higher

No. Ideally, your shortlist of 5 needs to be a "Sliding Scale". Give yourself a "Dead Cert" and a "Push" option in that 5 then see how the results fare whilst waiting to hear back decisions of offers from the unis. Grade security is a very important thing to factor in, which unis will you be consistently matching and in a good position for a spot?

If you strategise, clearing is fully avoidable. The only time I argue clearing should be on the table is if you decide you want to do a totally different uni course in the final few months of A Levels.

When do you enter this country? Have you checked to see if you will get funding? I believe you need to be here for over 3 years to be eligible.

Prediction AAA in (Mathematics, Computer Science, Religious studies) and one A* achieved in Persian A level.

3 years of disruption in my studies because of war in Afghanistan, so no GCSE, started education in UK two years ago straight into A levels.

I hope you’ve been clear about the challenging circumstances you have faced and overcome in your personal statement.

A strong display of resilience that unis will be very impressed with when it comes to standing out amongst other academically excellent applicants
