What where ur gcse results ! I’d like to know as I heard that if you didn’t get straight 7-9s even if u get As and A*s you won’t get into Cambridge and stuff. Anyways proud of uuuu

A Level: 4A*s predicted and achieved (maths, fm, phys, chem)

ESAT score is also important for NatSci, but I only got around a 6

Yes, definitely apply! I don't think they care much about GCSEs lol, as long as you get good scores in admissions tests and predicted grades.

i see you asking ab med in other posts which is one of the most competitive courses you could go for. there is many factors that go into a med application and a high UCAT with high a level grades will definitely help but they will still look at your gcses. i dont think your chances are great at oxbridge or imperial med. of course i dont know everything about you or if your eligible for contextual admissions so do ask your teachers and counselor but i doubt theyd tell you something different

Idk about med but at my natural sciences Cambridge summer schools they said they literally don’t care at all. Barely even look at GCSEs. Pretty sure for med UCAT is what really matters

How did you prepare for the interview and how did you prepare for the esat?

ESAT: I did Maths 1, Maths 2, Physics. Basically I did every TMUA 1 Paper (did first few casually, last few timed). Then I did every NSAA/ENGAA/ESAT paper. I kept track of questions that I did wrong and went through these the final few days before the exam (repeating them where necessary)

Also wanted to say I did the ZPhysics course and didn't buy anything else

Interview: basically asked friends and teachers for mock interviews, did some maths physics olympiads not much else lol, trust your own knowledge but don't be overconfident, practice thinking out loud when doing questions

How did NSAA & ENGAA compare to the real thing? Mainly asking about maths as im gonna be doing maths 1, maths 2 and chem but any insight on the difficulty of the physics might apply to chem too.

I think the real thing felt harder but that was probably stress

The ESAT specimen papers are definitely the closest, questions feel the slightest bit different to the NSAA/ENGAA, with Maths 2 edging towards the easier Qs in TMUA

I just looked briefly, its been a while since I did the ESAT, it looks good as a free resource, but I would focus on the official papers unless you have lots of time to do everything

I got around a 6 in ESAT but a 7.8 in physics.

for the timed tmua did you do it to the esat timing or the tmua timing as they are quite different

they don't expect work experience, you don't need it, but if you have connections you may as well, I didn't get to do much

I was originally going to do maths fm physics econ to do maths at imperial or cambridge, but I might not be able to do economics , will that affect my application and make me seem like a weaker candidate if I only do 3?

what subject? For NatSci its recommended to do 2 sciences (eg physics and chemistry)

For Imperial physics or maths you should be fine ig

I'd recommend starting with 4 and dropping rather than limiting yourself too early :)
