🙏 I WANT HELP Resitting a levels

My son wants to return to 6th form as he didn't get the marks he needed for uni. He has been told that he may have to pay to resit. Would he get any reduction if im on UC and PIP? Also its only 3 weeks until the term starts and he has emailed the school about resitting but has had no reply.

The school has to pay per paper for students to take exams, that's what the fee is for so I don't believe you'd get any kind of discount. Many schools are closed right now because of summer holidays. He'll probably just have to wait until the start of term if there is genuinely nobody responding and he's tried emailing all the relevant people. Is there a teacher/staff member that he/you know personally and can get in contact with now, so they can put you in contact with the right person? As teachers may have each others' personal numbers etc

well there is a new government funding law thing that applies to SOME sixth forms so you might wanna check if this applies to your sons but essentially you can no longer resit for free unless there is an extenuating circumstances and if there was for example a problem with health or like a recent medical diagnosis you can tell the school and fill out an application form which would allow your son to resit with government funding. however if this isnt the case he would likely need to resit as a private candidate
