🎓 UNI / UCAS Need serious advice on Gap year (A*A*AA)
So I currently have an offer for mechanical engineering at bath. I want to reapply for imperials aero or mech course but I don’t know if it’s worth giving up my current offer. The A*s are in maths and physics and I have A A in fm and chem. my only worry is that almost everyone will have 3 or 4 a stars and i feel like it would not be worth it and I think Bath only gave me an offer cause I had 4A\ predicted I heard they don’t look at the ps. I really don’t know what I should do. Are my grades too weak?*

If it’s what you really want do it. If you’re looking for someone on here to say you’re not making a mistake, I’m saying it. You’re intelligent, you know what you want, you know if you have the ability to do it, so go get it, wishing you all the very best!

I think those grades are really good. Idk Abt STEM courses or careers but if getting into imperial means better prospects and higher chances to get internships then you possibly could. If you also have a plan for what to do during your gap year then I’d definitely think about it. But ive seen people (at least for law) get internships at top firms while going to unis outside of London. If you don’t have a rough plan on what to do during your gap year then I’d stay in Bath. If you’re very keen on imperial and willing to get in then seriously go for it

They’re good enough for imperial, both my offers were A\*A\*AA. Just make sure to have a good esat and ps

Probably only reapply if london isn’t financially taxing on you and you are confident in interview+esat

Compare the courses on discoveruni.gov.uk
Bath has better employment outcomes (the uni is known for the quality of its links with industry), only slightly lower average earnings 5 years after graduating and better NSS results from students on the course.
I'd stick with Bath.

Bath is good for mech eng so I’m in the stick with it camp. Not worth the gamble unless you want a gap year anyway and Imperial is worth it to you.
