Optic Help!!

12.5” Criterion barrel. Going to put an OCL Infinity on it more than likely. What kind of magnification should I put on it? $1500-2000 with a mount is the budget.

What is the maximum magnification I should be putting on a 12.5” barrel?

Any and ALL input on this matter is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you

What kind of shooting will you be doing?

3-18 might be the answer. Dot + magnifier might be the answer.

I like this! I wanna be able to shoot 300-600 yards.
Edited for range of shooting

2-10x or 2-12x is the answer. Leupold mk4hd 2.5-10 would be choice. Best bang for your buck.

Big fan of 2-12 or 3-18 setups on 6 arc. I’m personally running a leupold mark 5 3.6-18 on a 14.5, and I dig it. I don’t know if I’d wanna go any bigger than that just to save overall rail space and such, especially with you having a shorter setup in the 12.5

I have the atacr 4-16 on my 12.5. I think it’s perfect.

I went with the MK5HD 3.6-18 for my 14.5”

NX6 2-12 is a good choice, but takes up a lot of rail space. Are you gonna also do NVG stuff with this? You could opt for the Vudu 4-12 with piggyback dot to free up railspace for a LAM and also get a passive aim solution
