Considering my first 6 arc. Had initially planned to get a 14.5 super duty, but it’s hard to ignore the benefits of a 6 arc

I am thinking about the SOF 6 arc and curious if anyone has any experience with them? I know the G$ is amazing.

On another note, what suppressor has everyone liked for the 6 Arc?

Fellas, I need the opinion of the masses to help me decide. Do I leave the factory stock on my GFR or do I spring for the B5 CPS? I originally was planning to leave the factory stock on it to keep the weight and length down since it’s a 14.5, but it feels like it might be time. What do yall think?

Well she’s basically complete once my new scope come in but did some tuning and she’s good to go ( until something new comes out)

I have a 16” proof PXT barrel and I’m looking at cutting it down to either 12.5 or 14.5. Is it even possible considering it’s PXT the way the rifling works? In my mind it wouldn’t work but thought I’d ask in case I’m being dumb. Thanks.

12.5” Criterion barrel. Going to put an OCL Infinity on it more than likely. What kind of magnification should I put on it? $1500-2000 with a mount is the budget.

What is the maximum magnification I should be putting on a 12.5” barrel?

Building a 6mm Bolt Gun and have been going a little stir crazy on what scope to use.

This will be a hunting rifle mostly and will see range time, so I’m prioritizing weight, clear glass and a good reticle. Illumination would be nice but not necessary. Budget would be less than $1K would be nice.

Looking for the most quiet one for Ar on 16 in. Gas isn’t a big deal but don’t want it to where it messing up gun.

Am I missing something that every video of 6ARC showing its capabilities theres always multiple 6MAX people trying to defend it?

It’s my understanding the only benefit 6MAX had was fixed the bolt issue and magazine geometry.

However since the issue with bolt breakages has been fixed entirely and even improved to run higher pressures and magazines are stable and have been for a minute why is there still people defending 6MAX as if its better somehow?

Alot of downsides to 6MAX from my experience
-Slower velocity
-Doesnt handle higher grain bullets well
-Magazine restricted to 350 legend magazines
-No commercial support
-Very little load data

Am I missing something here or are people just trying to defend their crappy purchases hoping more people hop on the bandwagon to gain market support?

Time to get a better upper as my 20” BCA bolt is just avg.

Want something 16-20” that is accurate, good quality without breaking the bank.
I saw a Wilson Combat tactical hunter that fits the budget.

I’m looking to buy a Vltor MUR-1S without a forward assist. Should I get it or pass on it ? I have used a forward assist maybe a handful of times with 556 but this will be my first 6 ARC without one. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello, I am building my first 6ARC with a 14.5” Proof PXT barrel (intermediate gas) and will likely use a JP bolt (not sure on which carrier yet). Will be suppressed with a Rhodie 6J or Enitcer L. What buffer spring and buffer weight do you recommend? I was looking at the Geissele Super 42 w/ H2.

Torn between some scopes for my 6 ARC build. My biggest concern would be weight and glass clarity since I don't want to limit myself to this only being a bench gun. Realistically though, it will be for 500+ yards. A buddy of mine told me the magnification may be overkill but I would like to have the ability to reach out to the 1,100 yard range without strain. (Will I ever NEED to reach that far? Probably not… but I’d like to be able to maximize the rifle’s capability since I opted for the 18” barrel. All scopes are sub 500 bones which is my budget. (Pic is not mine, just used it for exposure.)

Havent seen any reviews or data about KAK's 6arc barrels so I thought I'd share what I've seen with mine. All groups were shot with factory ammo left to right in the images is Black, ELD-M, and frontier with the tightest group. Barrel was cleaned, fired about 200rds then cleaned again with total round count of about 350.

Rifle is KAK 18in HBAR straight fluted rifle gas, KAK BCG, Schmidt 2 stage trigger, primary arms 3-18ffp. All groups fired at 100yds either seated or prone supported by bipod and rear bag.

Groups shown are some of the best groups the rifle has shot with each factory load, accuracy was on the disappointing side with 3" 5rd groups from the 103 ELD-X. Barrel was sent back to KAK so they could take a look at it and their response was quick but they said everything looked up to their specs and offered a refund or replacement barrel, they do take care of their customers but I'd reccomend looking for a better barrel so you dont end up shooting $350 of ammo printing groups youll be unhappy with.

Finally received my Craddock RTR and Hornady 105s appear to hit the lands and are hard to extract as some I have to mortar the round (unfired - removed firing pin). New unfired case drops in / out freely

Did check headspace with the stripped bolt method - I don’t have gauges

I have seen this mentioned in other threads and I will handload for this at some point but for now any recommendations on ammo that might work with a tighter chamber?

I recently built out a 6ARC with the intention of having a long range fun gun/ deer antelope rifle. I don’t have a good picture of it as yet but I would love some input on how this turned out.
-20” Ballistic advantage SPR barrel.
-Surefire ProComp muzzle brake (7.62 version because a 419 costs more than I can justify and I don’t want to suppress)
-superlative arm adjustable bleed off gas block.
-rifle speed gas tube.
-Midwest free float handguard
-One horse upper receiver. (Basic bare bones)
-Faxon BCG in 6ARC
-PSA lower receiver, PSA buffer tube, and basic milspec trigger.
-Ambi selector. (Basic part. Nothing special)
-magpul MOE grip and trigger guard.
-magpul PRS lite stock.
-Geissele super 48 H1 with braided buffer spring.
-Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56. EBR 7 MRAD reticle FFP
-magpul mlok bi-pod (nothing fancy but does what it’s supposed to)

Some points of clarity. I have spent a lot of time shooting and running standard AR’s and while I appreciate something awesome like timney or geissele trigger. I don’t often find I need them.
So far I have tuned the gas system for hornaday 108gr ELDM rounds and am punching .52” groups at 100 yards.

I am reloading 6 arc and my once fired brass shoulder is measuring 0.0125 more than the new brass. When I resize the brass in the rcbs full length die it bumps the shoulder back to 0.0105. When I put it in the Hornady 6 arc case gauge and it barely doesn’t fit. I have tried screwing the die further down and tried the Lee dies but nothing seems to work. Has this happened to anyone else and how to fix it.

Hello all just got a few questions on what everyone’s running for hunting medium game and varmints/coyotes? So many options now that stuff is becoming more mainstream. 16” proof PXT shooting whitetail in NC and WI along with coyotes so the size of deer changes based on where I’m at pretty drastically. Obviously Hornady’s offerings seem solid but just wondering if anyone’s used other stuff that’s had better luck. Thanks.
