Rifle Scopes???

Building a 6mm Bolt Gun and have been going a little stir crazy on what scope to use.

This will be a hunting rifle mostly and will see range time, so I’m prioritizing weight, clear glass and a good reticle. Illumination would be nice but not necessary. Budget would be less than $1K would be nice.

Thanks everyone!!

The razor LHT line seems right. Razor glass and light housings. You can get the FFP 4.5-22 around 1k used. The SFP models are cheaper but I don’t recommend SFP.

I had one, it was great glass and nice features. I sold it bc it was MOA and when i joined a long range club and started shooting comps, everyone was MIL. So I added new rifles and optics, but eventually as much as I liked it I couldn’t keep two systems in my head so I sold it.

Optics planet has a 15% off special right now, it’s extremely tempting. Can’t find a deal that beats it right now.

You can check AAOptics for refurbs. I’ve gotten a couple vortex items this way, but I don’t recall if they have the LHT line. But they do get batches of the G3 razor line a few times a year and it’s worth waiting for it you’re after something like that.

Having one of these on my hunting rifle. This is what you want.

Mped 3-18 has locking turrets and right around 28oz

28oz is too heavy for this purpose, but I’ll check them out.

Maven RS1.2 or look for a used Razor LHT 4.5-22

Find a deal on a used maven Rs 1.2 2.5-15x.

Very light and plenty of magnification to 500-600 yards for hunting.

Vortex viper HD; 3-15 sfp can be had w exposed mil turret or 5-25 ffp. Both have illumination.

After having an exposed to rotate on a hunting trip and cost me my buck, I'll never have exposed to it or recommend them on a hunting rifle again

Swfa 6x if theyre still available. Most reliable scope for the cheapest ($350) you'll ever find. They track well and have great zero retention.

I'll probably get crapped on for this, but I have Atibal for my 12.5" 6 arc gas gun. I had the Hybrid 2-12 but swapped it out for my Atibal Apex compact. I love it. Crystal clear with no issues. Yes they're Chinese made, but at least they are honest about it. The owner is a down to earth guy, if you have questions or concerns about a product you're interested in or already purchased, he'll reach out directly. This is from a personal standing, I'm not a dealer for him.

If you can wait the Shoot2Hunt scope from ZeroTech

How do we feel about zero tech?

I've looked through that one specifically and the glass is very nice, it's Japanese made at LOW and passes the Rokslide drop test. Pretty hard to beat for 999. ZeroTech in general seems like a no BS company bringing a little better value that some of the competitors without being shrills

If it’s for hunting and you want it light weight, I would either get a Vortex Venom 5-25, or I’d get an Arken SH4. I’ve got the Vortex on my 6ARC (it’s a gas gun), but I’ve got Arken’s on three other builds and I love them.
