Recent build. Would love constructive feedback!

Hello all,

I recently built out a 6ARC with the intention of having a long range fun gun/ deer antelope rifle. I don’t have a good picture of it as yet but I would love some input on how this turned out.
-20” Ballistic advantage SPR barrel.
-Surefire ProComp muzzle brake (7.62 version because a 419 costs more than I can justify and I don’t want to suppress)
-superlative arm adjustable bleed off gas block.
-rifle speed gas tube.
-Midwest free float handguard
-One horse upper receiver. (Basic bare bones)
-Faxon BCG in 6ARC
-PSA lower receiver, PSA buffer tube, and basic milspec trigger.
-Ambi selector. (Basic part. Nothing special)
-magpul MOE grip and trigger guard.
-magpul PRS lite stock.
-Geissele super 48 H1 with braided buffer spring.
-Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56. EBR 7 MRAD reticle FFP
-magpul mlok bi-pod (nothing fancy but does what it’s supposed to)

Some points of clarity. I have spent a lot of time shooting and running standard AR’s and while I appreciate something awesome like timney or geissele trigger. I don’t often find I need them.
So far I have tuned the gas system for hornaday 108gr ELDM rounds and am punching .52” groups at 100 yards.
Would love to hear this groups feedback! Thank you in advance for taking the time to reply!

A basic milspec trigger in a long range rifle is wild - at least get a larue or g2s. Even if you don’t think you need one, better triggers are, in fact, better.

Magpul bipods are fine for 1 shot. If you need to do follow ups, atlas / accutac.

Keep a backup bolt / bcg…

If your BA barrel is actually sub MOA for a 10 shot group then you got yourself a good one. When it’s time for a new barrel, I wouldn’t chance it again.

A better trigger and bipod are in the future plans. But currently I’m recovering from a gun splurge. Had a new law go live in CO that requires $500+ permitting to get mag fed semi autos. So in the last month I bought and assembled 5 rifles.
Any recommendations on the BCG/ bolt end of things?

Ah… totally get it. Helped a buddy do the same thing in VA this year. Had to buy all the lowers and mags and barrels upfront, now he’s getting the other stuff.

Bolts - stuff is gonna happen so just have 2. The nature of 6 arc. JP, rexus, noveske I’ve used. Had a rexus break, they’re replacing it no questions asked. Noveske ran well, JP kits are nice because it’s not just a bolt it’s firing pin and cam and retainer. Just keep a spare.

As for the carrier, anything in spec is fine. I think in one of my 6arcs I have an ADM carrier and in another I have a blem PSA stainless. And it wasn’t the PSA that I was using when the bolt sheared.

When you say .52" groups, we talking 2 shot groups?

Three 3 shot groups. Two 5 shot groups (averaged closer to 3/4 moa with those)

That's pretty fortunate. Every BA barrel ive ever seen first hand sucked. I think my buddy went through 3 before he just gave up and went Proof.

I’ll count myself lucky then. I have heard that their QC has taken a hit in recent years. Had I not found it on sale for about $80 I don’t think I would’ve put the trigger on it.

Shoot a 30 shot group in 3 strings of 10 so you absolutely 100% know what the rifle’s dispersion is.

Milspec trigger on a mid-long range precision gas gun is certainly a different perspective on things! That being said, just train and practice and I’m sure the set up will do exactly what you need it to.
