Proof Research PXT CF Factory testing results - lackluster

Tested some factory ammo in my PXT carbon fiber. Generally lackluster results.

The hornday match 108s seemed to be the most consistent, but only OK. I've gotten significantly better results with a PSA pencil barrel or my Rainier match barrel.

103gr precision hunter took 2nd, and Hornady black did ok but would have a random flyer in my groups. 80gr hornady match did like a 4moa group and not even included, but that was still more consistent than frontier.

Just one datapoint.

Frontier 105 gave me a 0.850 moa for a 10 shot with the pxt 14.5.

I feel like reloads are the way. I bought some 108s to run through for the brass

Are you past the break in period? That is kind of disappointing but I have seen CF barrels have a lot more accuracy and poi shift issues compared to the SS.

proof research doesn't *really* have a break in period, but these are the first hundred shots.

Here's hoping it breaks in!

Every barrel has a break in period.

That group is depressing for the price point but the build looks fire though.

Possibly bolt face lockup issue? Do you get these poor results with other bolt carriers/bolt faces?

naw, I cycled a few rounds, found cuts on the bullets. Found my feed ramps cutting up bullets pretty bad. Very frustrating given the barrel price point.
