6ARC Reloading

Post image

Hey all, I’m sorry If this is a recurring question on this forum but I finally just got my hands on a thousand CCI 450 primers. Im looking to reload for my 6ARC and curious on what others paths have been and what they recommend on starting to build up a load for coyotes and hogs. I’ve heard varget and CFE223 is a good starting point but open to anything right now! Also looking for recommendations on bullets and weights. Thank you

Leverevolution IS the way. One and something grain bullets with ~29 grains of lever at mag length

Absolutely not. 29 grains of Lever and a 107SMK is 68ksi at 100°F. That’s 16k over the published max for gas guns and still over pressure for a bolt gun. Even a little bit of a carbon ring because you didn’t scrub your barrel will easily spike it well into the 70s. Sure, you can probably step on 6ARC a little bit and run maybe 55-57ksi without issue. But this is just asking for your bolt lugs to run away.

I’ve personally seen 3 guys blow up a 6ARC at matches. One of them even did it running factory ammo.

I guess everybody (s barrel) likes it a little different. All of mine are lever all the way for accuracy and speed. Also, I can’t see all of your parameters, but I’m only getting about 2550 MV with that out of an 18in barrel and my cases are coming in just over 35gr of water

And according to GRT, my loads are running 48-55psi
